I just got an email from BC ....
I’m writing to invite you to an optional Volunteer Forum event, which will take place virtually on Tuesday 8 November at 6:30pm, and be led by British Cycling’s Commercial Director, Darren Henry, and Head of Commercial Partnerships, Chris Williams.
In the session, Darren and Chris will run through a short presentation and answer questions on our current commercial partnerships, our work to secure new partners, and how our work with partners can support us to deliver our ‘Lead our sport, inspire our communities’ strategy.
Due to the number of people we expect to attend, questions should be submitted in advance to volunteering@britishcycling.org.uk , by 12pm on Friday 4 November. The session won't be recorded, however, if you're not able to attend on this date, we're planning to host similar opportunities in the future as part of our work to strengthen communications with our volunteers and workforce. Therefore, I look forward to seeing some of you virtually next week and meeting many more of you in the months and years ahead.

My 4iii precision left sided only PM has given up the ghost, only about 3 months after the warranty expired ...
It started reading clearly very low in the middle of a ride, and my attempts to recalibrate and zero offset via my head unit or the mobile app don't work. Customer service have been great at trying to help get it working, but have reached the end of what they can diagnose and fix. Sounds like they think it's hardware rather than software.
They've offered me 50% off the price of fitting a new one to my crank arm, which would then be covered by a new warranty. I'll probably go for that, but it will likely be quite annoying and expensive posting it to the USA and then getting it back to the UK. Before I do so, just checking if anyone else has any ideas or experience on how to fix this?

Turnout looks pretty good. All the DNS were apologies in advance. That's a lot of KWCC members entered, though. It is awesome that they can get so many entrants! My club has about 450 members and we generally have only 6-8 members enter the open HC we organise.

I'm gonna try the POC mitts, currently £25 on wiggle in my size in black. I've just had the 3rd pair of Morvelo mitts break after just the 2nd ride, so have asked PBK for a full refund rather than the charade of sending me another pair and hoping they will be better quality. They just seem to be a terribly made mitt!

Chat a few pages back about getting the BC Gold discount on TrainingPeaks, and I realised this morning that I needed to renew my subscription...
Clicked around a bit on the BC members section and managed to find it here.

Morvelo mitts in large just arrived. I usually would wear a small in most other brands of glove, but only sizes large and upwards seem to be available anywhere online.
Initial impressions are good - just what I was after. The large size is fine, but I reckon that a medium would have been a slightly better fit had that been available. Hopefully they'll shrink a bit the first time I wash them.
If I don't report back on durability any time soon then that's good news on that front ;-)
A big thank you for the recommendation, @M_V - I really appreciate it!

Can anyone recommend a pair of mitts with minimal (preferably no) padding that will be durable, that are currently for sale?
My last pair of the old specialized BG mitts have finally given up. The ones with the pittard leather palm.
I'm looking for something that will stop my sweaty hands feeling like they might slip off the levers when I'm really going for it on a steep climb in the heat of summer.
I looked at the giro jag mentioned upthread and just think they are gonna have too much padding. Gripgrab look like they have 2 models that might fit the bill. DHB aeron maybe? Or Gore C3?

It wasn't a 5800 lever, but a 105 hydraulic shifter. The ones with the big ugly bulbous hoods. Seems to be a really common problem with them that the spring breaks, but you can't buy replacement springs. My local bike shop managed to fix it by making a new spring from piano wire. The guy there said he'd seen loads of these come though and need similar fixes so was quite good at it by now.
