I didn't get on with the bont riots as much as I wanted them to be great. Had to send 3 pairs straight back because one of the buckles didn't work on every single pair. Then once I had a pair the buckles worked on, the sole of one foot shattered while I was accelerating, and that was after less than a month! Really bad quality control

Yeah I'm running the aw1 in 25c on my rear wheel currently, the wired one. Used to run the race lites as well until they stopped making them, and the aw1 is a good replacement. Good balance between durability and feeling nice to ride. I tried the aw 2 as well (folding 23c) a few weeks ago but didn't get on with it as well as the 1.

@dicki is there any chance I could be cheeky and borrow your dremel and a cutting disk really quick sometime this week? If not, anyone got a dremel or some big bolt croppers I could borrow near Stratford?

Not a clue, it was being cordoned off as I went past at about 7.15. Whole commute was carnage today coming from Stratford to Central. Witnessed a wobbly brompton rider wobble between bus and a skip truck, wobble his bike into the side of the bus, rebound and then wobble into the skip lorry, and then drop his bike. Good job they weren't moving ...

If it's every 2 revolutions of the crankset, then I'd personally double check that it isn't something on the wheel that's making the creaking. Slightly out of true wheel rubbing the brake block in the same place each rotation, or a knackered bearing in the wheel that makes the noise in the same place each time. Try spinning each wheel with the bike off the ground to see if the noise is the same.
If not, try taking the chain off the crank and then listening for the noise spinning the crank. If you hear a noise I'd suggest BB, if you don't, my first port of call would be changing the chain - very cheap and if it's very old or very worn there might be a stuck link that's causing the noise.
Also worth saying, check that your chainring bolts (the bits that attach the chainring to the crank) are tight enough.
Hopefully one of the above should sort it

Waiting at the crossroads by mile end halfords this morning on my way into the city at a red light, some kid on a shit mountain bike hit my elbow as he RLJ'd. Called him out and he turned round to start saying sorry as he then blindly freewheeled over the junction. Then, once the light turned green and I set off, he turned right round on his saddle as I passed and said to me 'Mate, I was just trying to give you a little wake up call'. Oh the irony.

Actually I've just compared to geometries and they are fairly similar, with the langster pro having a slightly longer wheelbase and seattube. Not sure where you're based but you'd be welcome to give mine a go, and I'm sure you could find someone with a 56cm for comparison. Give me a PM if you're interested

I'm not sure whether this will help or muddy the waters further, but I have a 2014 langster pro in 54 (although slightly different models, I would assume a similar overall fit?) and I'm 5'11". It's just about perfect with a 110mm stem - saddle to bar drop is pretty decent. I'm currently riding bullhorns out of preference, but I have a set of compact drops I'll put on there at some point, and don't feel it will be ridiculous.

Agreed that looks good on a well used frame like that, however mine is relatively new and in good nick, it would just look like a bodge. To update, and for anyone looking to do so in the future -I've got the minoura bottle mount, which works very well on any saddle with standard rails - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/minoura-sbh-300-dual-bottle-cage-bracket/
The issue, however, was that my previous bottle cages didn't really work very well with this, and I'd lose bottles where the alloy bent under the weight of the water bottles and the stress of bumps/potholes.
Bought 2 of these to try, and they work well for 6 quid each - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/elite-custom-race-bottle-cage-2013-1/ I've used them on the commute fine, and did a 40 mile ride today. The bottles came out once, but that was over an enourmous speedbump that I took far too fast. I've also bought one of these for 7 quid - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-flow-cage-bottle-cage/ which look and feel like they are more secure, however it is quite difficult to get the bottle out and in, which might limit how useful it actually is for holding a bottle you can drink from on the move.

Criminal as it might be to recommend DHB on here, these are excellent for the price point - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-goldline-bib-short/
