I know but In comparison to millions killed by soviet union and entire countries and their economies crippled so bad we still can't catch up with the west 30 years after escaping the soviet union?
inb4 soviet union was different from current russia... Not really - Putin is a thug with career in KGB. Hell, he even changed Russia's anthem back to Soviet Union one (except swapping some words).
-
What's playing through my head is why the west can't just send a surprise gift in form of a missile to Putin's balcony. Been thinking about the same thing with Lukashenko, when he silenced all the protests with brute force and murders. A few friends of mine from Belarus can't return there and visit their friends and family because they're in the wanted list.
China is a good guy compared to Russia or Belarus.

There are talks that they have a list of persons they want to "punish" (pro-west politicians, war veterans from 2014, even active people from various pro democracy NGO's and so on).
It's possible that his plant is to not go all in but be more direct with the manhunt capture all those in the list (who drive the country towards west ideas basically), punish them (up to your fantasy what it means) and probably leave them alone with pro Russian government installed (and with those couple of regions captured).
Russians themselves kept on talking about the "list" on their tv.

The argument against this being the end for Putin's leadership is that nobody seems to think there is anyone else out there that Russia could rally around as their next leader.
I want to believe it's and end of Putin, but it seems that opposition in Russia's government is nonexistent - ones who want to change status quo get silenced or disappear on mysterious circumstances.
I also don't believe there's much democracy going on, everybody in top positions are people Putin trusts and it's essentially like a mobster state. The head might change but it will probably remain the same.

Russia must be fully cut off from the west and join North Korea club. Full on embargo. No visas, no commercial flights, no connections to any finances in the civilised world. When oligarchs realise they can no longer go to Nice or Monaco or Amalfi coast or whatever, they'll deal with Putin themselves.
All these talks from the west reminds me of a school teacher who's just "concerned" about the bully, and the bully smiles at you because you're the next in line to get your ass kicked.

Fretting about riding gravel bikes on anything but road it seems.
That's so me when I entered a gravel fondo with my 650b x 48c slicks, noticed the majority is riding mtb bikes and realised the event was organised by mtb xc riders with a lot of segments from their trails.
Last 10 km or so went through an official xc cup trail and it was practically a sandbox.
3 years later i'm still pissed about it.

Can't stop thinking about this gravel bike from Ahearne...
I definitely don't need another custom bike but what would be the European frame builder alternatives with similar style to this?
Dreaming of segmented forks, chrome chainstays and seatstays and sparkling pink paintjob...

That's what I was thinking as well...
I remember I had a couple of items that were so good I thought - that's it - I don't need anything else from Rapha because it just works and is enough. And I still have some of those items, for example brevet bib shorts outlasted both core cargo shorts and the pricy cargo shorts.
In the end it's probably not a good business strategy to make long lasting items.
Not much into conspiracy theories but it really feels like planned obsolescence. -
Got mine in 2020 spring. Can't remember if they were made in Italy or in Portugal but somewhere in Europe. Got them to tailors to fix them up but so far haven't heard any updates regarding it - hope they haven't messed it up.
I've heard a similar thing happening (stitching coming off) to an acquaintance of mine just after a week of riding.
The worst thing about Rapha is that even though the quality is getting worse/inconsistent, I still feel like buying it over anything else because it just looks so good. 😩

Do you have no turn by turn directions at all or do you have at least some of them?
How do you add the route to the device? It all comes to cue sheet basically. It's sort of an additional data that gives information to the device about these turns.
Some route planners generate it automatically, some don't. I just checked it on Komoot but haven't been able to understand whether they show it somewhere or not. I think it doesn't work as good in trails or fire roads, probably there's not enough data.
I also noticed that when you export a gpx file from somebody's route, often times they won't appear. In rwgps there's a "trace" action that will trace the route in the file provided and will add these cue sheets for turn by turn navigation.

I was just about to rant about my cargo shorts again...
The stitching coming off from rubbing inside leg just resulted in some structural disengagement and now I can poke a finger through the gap and touch my thighs. The colour also faded away so bad soon they will look more grey than black.
I know I took a 40% rapha voucher instead of replacement but it still leaves me with my right to rant, I guess. A season in €240 shorts shouldn't completely destroy them (I think).
I'll be looking to try some other brand bibs.
Sadly PNS or assos doesn't have cargo bibs and maap are a little bit too colourful.
Currently got my eyes on pedaled and 7mesh.Any other recommendations?

Super happy with my bolt v1 and been advocating for wahoo for years. After 20k km on it, I think it's the best bike related purchase I could've made.
Now there's an opportunity for me to upgrade to v2 (a friend, working at bike shop offered a good deal) but i'm not sure if it works properly - the dcrainmaker review is a disaster, I wonder if those issues got fixed? Judging from the review and from the things i've heard from a friend it sounds like v1 simply works better.
Anybody here having absolutely no problems with the new bolt?

Almost froze to death while camping last weekend while others slept like babies and flexed their down jackets and sleeping bags later on.
Then I remembered my favourite brand has a packable down jacket yet it seems it's moved to archive and only smallest sizes remain. Did they discontinue it or what because the pricing is quite competitive so it mustn't make loads of money.
On the other hand I see that in upcoming stuff there seems to be a female version down jacket so maybe not?
Anyway, I wonder if it's any good for bike touring and every day use?

For now... But Poland and the Baltics might be next if Russia sees they can get away with stuff like this relatively easy.
I hope not, I hope with us (I'm in Lithuania btw) it would be different, because we're member of both EU and NATO.
That's why the civilised world must act of crippling this Mordor to the east.
