Kind of.
Recable #1 was due to poor initial braking power.
Recable #2 was due to replacement of all cables, housings, yokes and pads.
Recable #3 was due to requiring a fork-mounted hanger at the front and also deciding to install a Surly barrel-adjuster hanger at the back.
Recable #4 was due to both needing to switch the brakes over (wife is accustomed to left-hand = rear brake) and needing to install the cross-top levers.Part of me wishes I'd bought her some nice TRP Mini-Vs as an early birthday present...

Scored a nice used All-City Space Horse off Craigslist for the wife a few weeks back, and recently finished tweaking it for her. It had a few ropey components on it and had obviously had a few 'favourite' bits taken off before it was sold.
Been tweaking it and touching up the odd paint chip here and there, as well as re-cabling those fucking cantis about four times, installing new pads, cable inners, yokes, straddle cables and cross-top levers before final test-fit, cable-trimming and wrapping new bar tape. Did the odd spot of 'custom' paint too.
Thankfully, she 'quite likes it'.http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2866/9480235349_2931988b03_o.jpg

After riding mine Fixed on 700x32c Paselas for a couple of months, I've installed a rear v-brake, gone SS and geared down from 44x17T to 42x17T.
Just didn't feel nice as a Fixed. I know it's probably down to tyre choice, but I went for something chunky and grippy as partly an antidote to my road bike and partly because LA streets are like the surface of the Moon.
It also became a bit boring having to wear SPDs to ride it anywhere. It's supposed to be my beer/coffee bike.70mm stem was too short, pitched me too far over the rear wheel and fucked up the steering. 90mm now, seat slid forward 15mm to compensate.
Also hate hate hate the feel of cloth bar tape. Rewrapped with Fizik Gel underneath, still feels like shit. Replacement is on the 'to do' list.

Fuck me, even though there are some very good independents in Norwich, Costa & Nero easily serve "better" espresso than Starbucks*.
- As clarification, I haven't drunk in any of those chains for years but Nero was just passable many years ago.
Every Nero I've ever walked past stinks of burnt coffee. I keep walking.

Ha - quality! Yours? BRM will love that....
I had no idea there was a drome in Encino.
Planning a little spin up Baldy on Saturday morning if you fancy joining? Will be early to avoid the heat....
No long Saturday ride unfortunately, wife has just acquired Her First Road Bike so I'm condemned to riding around with her for hours explaining how the gears work.
Last night was the Golden Saddle Grand Prix at Encino, 'twas rather good.
My Flickr setCorvette ain't mine. I have something far more mundane, unfortunately.

Encino Velodrome last night. Living the dream.

Regarding these rims, I've had my black ano TB14s for a few hundred miles now and the front v-brake still honks like an absolute motherfucker.
Brake pads are Kool Stop Black inserts in Avid RW2 holders.
They were brand new at the same time as the rims. I've tried every angle for the pads, still loud as fuck.
Managed to get the rear brake quiet, but the pads on that brake are Shimano so perhaps that plays a part?
If anyone has any specific pad recommendations I'm all ears, otherwise I'll probably try Kool Stop Salmons.
