High heels

One day they'll be looked back upon quizzically the way we now view corsets.
Oh yeah - and men in smart shoes and trousers but no socks. And men who leave the top three buttons of their shirt undone, especially if they're over 30.

White saddle and bar-tape is the go-to combo for late-vintage era steel, I feel. And if you end up opting for black rims then a black quill stem to complete the look.
Interesting that you've posted a picture of that Concorde, because I saved the very same picture in my 'Random Bikes' folder on my laptop. Note how the prevalence of chromed/silver parts permits the inclusion of a black saddle.

Ha Ha - I didn't mean to imply that he's any of these things in particular, it was more list of the unpleasant qualities that prevail in the macho world of sport generally.
The more pertinent issue, though, is the discrimination against the self-funded riders who were perhaps better than those under the control of BC; the more sinister issue of megalomania and the desire for complete control, rather than the immaturity of these silly slurs.

Totally. I dread to think the sort of vitriol Alex Ferguson's spouted in the dressing room in his time, and I doubt he's exceptional in that sense. Then again, Brian Clough was a hard man but still demanded gentlemanly conduct from himself and his players (didn't swear, asked that referees were shown respect). The idea that being authoritative somehow goes hand in hand with being misogynist/racist/homophobic and generally unpleasant doesn't follow; being disliked doesn't necessarily mean you're disrespected.

I think maybe Ronnie O'Sullivan's reputation proceeds him; read about it from Hawkins' perspective:
"He makes it look so effortless sometimes," said Hawkins, the only player to have reached the semi-finals in the past three seasons. "It winds me up to be honest. There's me twitching about and he's flowing. I don't know what he thought of his performance, but overall I thought he played really well."
Hawkins held in there, though, fair play to him.
I hope McManus tears Higgins apart.

Winning 3 frames on the bounce when you're 12-9 down isn't keeping your cool? I didn't think either player lost it, Hawkins just got the lucky break in that weird final frame. They both played well, both would have been worthy of victory, both made a few unforced errors.
I'm just happy Judd Trump's been knocked out, the up-himself little twerp.

I don't think you're 'obliged' to match the hoods with your tape. I have white bar-tape with black hoods and it works pretty well:

But about the saddle, I guess white would work better. I've tried looking for a Flite in white, but to no avail.

Sorry, I'm not in touch with the Republic of Ireland national football team. Should I be?
