I was confused by the photo attached the Scorchio post above, looked like the bolts fouled it.So centrehub is on and working as it should with the caveat that you’ve had to use zip ties to lock out the freehub?
Did you get the MRP backplate machined down?
I know nothing about the exp versions but zip ties would annoy me knowing that there’s a more proper way to do it.Rebuild the wheel with an older dt hub…
So when can you next properly test the DH bike? Anywhere in SG or is a case of waiting until you’re next in NZ or the alps?

This is such a screamer of a bike for a great price. I’ve been telling my wife I’ll build her a bike for ages and obviously her first bike being an absolute weapon of a climbing bike like this would be utterly ridiculous. But 475st does sound about right for her… I thinks she’s 5ft3, possible slightly taller or shorter.
What height are you?

Who is running 2.3mm rotors and has found a truing tool that actually fits over a 2.3mm rotor?
I bought the Feedback Sports one from Amazon and found that it doesn’t fit over a 2.3mm rotor or even a 2.0mm rotor. I suppose I could file the slots down slightly but that doesn’t seem right considering the tool wasn’t really that cheap.
I know I can use an adjustable wrench but really want the proper tool.

I’ve noticed that there are no photos online of any bikes with the centrehub installed and running a full top and bottom chain guide.
The only one I see is that Commencal frame with the stfu rubber loop thing on the chain stay.
The WRP site says that the centrehub must be installed with a top guide.
Has Mic made any suggestions as to what they have tried that actually fits together without fouling anything? -
On a different note, I ran my dh bike single speed for a few months one summer and also rand my nomad with the small 7 speed dh cassette on for a while.
I am 100% convinced that the rear suspension on both felt way better compared to when they went back to having cassettes. Especially on the nomad when it when back to a 52t cassette.It makes me want one of these gear box bikes.
@konastab01 give me a shout if you ever still ride at Inners much these days. Would love to see that bike in the flesh. -
Machining down a back plate that you have is almost certainly a possibility eh. There’s got to be a small engineering firm in SG that could help out.
Edit to add: even if you get the back plate machined down, would it still leave problems getting the upper and lower guides spaced correctly without rub?
that there doesn't seem to be a consensus online as to whether the centre hub works or not
This is what I really want to know.

Any idea what chain guide the chap from WRP is using?
I briefly ran my dh bike single speed without a chain guide and just relied on the narrow wide ring taking care of it. I felt like it was working surprisingly well right up until the chain came off twice on the same day that both got me close to a brown underpants moment. Wouldn’t run my dh bike without now.
The chap at Cascade Components is very sound and replied to my questions on Instagram very quickly. It’s probably an extreme way to go but you could maybe ask him to machine a sub 4mm backplate for you.
Edit - just realised the cascade one is 32t maxObvs the shimano guide could be worth a try but they are a bit ugly.

Yeah, see I know this very very well and yet I still end up absentmindedly doing it. I suspect that it’s part of why my post has 5mm squish.
I’d like to service it to have it rock solid again but I’d just end up annoyed going to effort of the service by my self then grabbing the bike by the saddle again. -
This is all very cool. Can’t wait to hear what you think of its performance/whatever it’s supposed to do?

edit - I just seen you other post that explains it’s at the iscg mounting points. I have a cascade chain guide that I haven’t installed yet, I’ll check the dimensions.

I honestly wouldn’t worry about that. It’s of course annoying but it’s just cosmetic.
If it makes you feel better I have some pretty big gouges on carbon bars on a mtb that I’ve continued riding since it happened 4 years ago. I was over 100kg last year and 96kg right now and they haven’t snapped. Yet. -
Photos are from the place servicing the shock/fork/dropper - trying to do that at home with a cat that knocks absolutely fucking everything off flat surfaces onto the floor is not something I’m keen to try

Is your reverb 100% sag free after the service??

Which level of service did you perform? Was it the full bhuna 500hr(or whatever the longest interval is) one?
I’m guessing in true dammit style you got all the proper vice clamps etc for the job?
Did it feel straight forward enough?
My AXS reverb was warrantied because of some sag that the vent valve procedure wouldn’t eliminate.
The warranty replacement they sent then developed sag within the first few rides, but it was only about 5mm of sag which I’m sram tech centre said is actually with spec and wouldn’t be warrantied again.
I haven’t even bothered to try the vent valve procedure on my current post with 5mm sag since I’ve just lived with it for the past couple years.After you competed the service, was it rock solid with no sag at all?
I’d like to just go ahead and get all the tools to give it a full service myself but I think I’d have nervous breakdown if the 5mm sag remained after the service. -

Sorry, have been meaning to get back to you here. I’m just outside Glasgow, not a million miles away from you.
I’d been thinking the bike I’d get for my wife would also be a bit more gravel oriented/chunky tyres/practical.
I think this would be just a bit too extreme for her, it’s really just me that can’t resist a good bargain. If only it had been a 58cm…
