Ok I will explain a little more :-) I didn't realise people would be this interested lol
The plastic as quite hard and the man at the shop said it was 1.5mm which at the time I didn't think was to bad.... Turns out I now think it is as it is quite heavy and bulky. The other plastic I have it from the back of large posters at work that were going to be binned. They are about 1mm or less and are much more flexible, these are more of an cloudy plastic though so will need to be pained on the inside. To to fix the disk together I used duck tape on the out side and then PVC plastic glue on the inside with a bit of plastic on the inside to reinforce the join. As for fixing the disk to the outer rim I just used black electrical tape. I measured the hubs with digital callipers and because of this I was able to get the plastic to fit very tightly around the hub, that's why I was able to only use electrical tape to fix it to the rim :-)
I used a dremel to cut the 1.5mm plastic and the eadges are quite rough but the new thinner plastic could be cut with scissors I think so I would have a perfect neater circle.Again if you guys know of any good glue that would be cool :-)

Aha it looks better than it is I think. Cheers though! I actually just followed this link
http://forum.slowtwitch.com/gforum.cgi?post=3553412;
But I had square sheets of plastic... They are slightly too thick so the chain was rubbing so I had to use my dremal to make it thinner where the chain was :-) the other plastic I have it much thinner and clear with a cloudy look to it. So I will spray the inside black. I used digital calipers to measure the hubs and the disks fit very tightly around them. That means that all I used to fix the was the tightnes of the disk on the hubs and some electrical tape.
Next payday I'm getting a njs zen ring and some tt Bars :-) -
Right so iv just built up my first track bike and then decided to build a homemade disk wheel for fun and too make my bike to look cool (IMO) got some glue that us used to stick PVC pipes together... Works ok but I was wondering if you guys no of any glue that will actually melt plastic? Not super glue though.....

Literally make it using this link

Need too find a glue that actually melts plastic as the glue I use was good but melting it would be better. Also the plastic I used was a little thick so thinner plastic is needed. None the less I think it looks super cool! -
