Took apart my friends bike today. I mean every nipple, ball bearing, screw and nut came off. He was not impressed. But being a bike mechanic in the making, it did him well.

Had a free trade ticket for today but I have to look after 30 teenagers with live ammunition and semi automatic assault rifles instead. Not sure if i'll pay to go on Sunday.

That was quick! Saw the parts on fb like yesterday or something. I love it, ride it till it dies!

After leaving the bike to dry for a day, I took it apart with difficulty and sanded the frame down. I also used a file and bench grinder to remove extra bits and braze ons for derailleurs, mudguards, pump holder etc. Over 12 bits needed filing off

I then applied a couple of thin coats of primer, filled all 16 holes and dents with a filler mixture, leaving the residue to dry till Monday so I can sand it down and apply a last coat of primer before the paint comes on.

While many have had problems with their TCs it's no a common theme. Mine has been going strong through years of abuse.

Found this bike in the canal and fished it out leaving it to dry for a day before starting my next project. Single speed ladies bike for a friend.
