The blistering is on underside of down tube so guess that leads me to the ‘is salty road muck better or worse than salty man sweat for 20yr old aluminium road frames’ conundrum?

Sure this’ll have been discussed many times but the paint blister that appears on many of the older aluminium caad frames, is it easily treated, as in, remove paint, treat with a magic solution and repaint?

Appreciate its oxidisation of the aluminium but can it (like rust on steel) eat through a tube or is it mainly surface only?

Or neither?

Despite already having a ratty old flite lying around I took the plunge on eBay earlier and in a fit of boredom bought a newer generation ratty flite so soon will have a couple to skin alive.

The saddle looks great as does your bike in every one of its evolving dress codes.

Anyone else have a RockLobster team tig 853?
I’ve always used a shimmed up ti seatpost that unsurprisingly always slipped. Have now replaced it with a 27.2 post which happily slides in a couple of inches then gets incredibly tight.
I’ve tried wrapping some wet ‘n dry paper round the narrower post to clean the seat tube internally and then lubing the 27.2 post but nothing much has improved.
Now wondering if it maybe takes a 27.0 seatpost?

Ah thanks, maybe keep me/my imaginary mate in mind if you decide to sell.
