Also, half-sleeping-bags (PHD make these) are good: they go around your legs, then you wear a down jacket to bed (so you can use the jacket on and off the bike).
Zpacks rain jacket is amazing and so is the new Rab Flashpoint jacket.
You could look at buying a tarp and then using the bike to prop the tarp up: lighter + cheaper + more waterproof than a bivvy bag if you get it to work right.
Didn't some guy do TransAm on an entirely liquid diet a few years ago?

Re:kit - look at anything made by PHD (UK and have sales and deals often), and Zpacks and Western Mountaineering. eBay also - lots of this stuff pops up for sale after people buy it and use it once then decide they want something more comfy.
I'd get a quilt not a sleeping bag, and an ultralight cover and sleep under a bridge if it rains.

SOLD SOLD SOLD
I've had this bike for a few years. It's a great frame, very light and stiff with the carbon forks, but still comfortable on city roads.

A quick rundown on the spec:
Miche Track Wheels
Risers, front brake and lever
Bontrager saddle
BMX-style pedals with Restrap straps
52x18 gearing currentlyRegarding size, it's a 57/Large, setup perfectly for me at 6.1" but could go a few inches either way. I have some drops which I can swap over if you're not so keen on risers.
Looking for £290, London pickup.

I've just come back from a couple of days in the peaks. Left the car in Upper Booth, walked up to Kinder Edge at night, camped there (great spot if you leave before 7am), then walked to Kinder Downfall, northeast to the Derwent source and down to Ladybower reservoir, then back west to Edale. 44km roundtrip or so, one big day's walk or several small days, would recommend.

Shout out to Palm Labs in Birmingham who I've been using for the past year or so as a great place for good and cheap dev, especially for B&W work.
They did 67 rolls of 35mm BW dev only for £3.82 each (bulk discount) which I thought was pretty good. One week turnaround, Xtol, cut and sleeved properly, speed changes free, lovely negs.
So yeah check it out if you need some film done.

I'm well up for that!
