Are these now more common than scramblers?
The kids / some scumbag adults racing in the park here ride around on those and yes, people died as well. Seen people on these with no helmet on the road doing 30 :(
We know where some live but police can't catch them unless they see them on the bike. As owning one isn't illegal. Same is going happen with these things I fear...

Another plague in my garden, I did dig out the roots where I could and this does seem to help a lot.
But I still have to pick it out every year, if you have soft soil I'd try to get as much of the root as you can. But it's not so bad where I dug out the roots. Don't put them on the compost heap, they don't die easily :D

Glyphosate is probably harming bees, so I would avoid it if I can. Don't know about the JKW, no doubt the internet will have more info?
Pelargonic acid does not seem to harm insects, so I got some for the driveway. I hate spraying but plants with deep taproots between bricks, ugh. And no I don't want to tarmac it over and make the ants homeless / stop water drainage.
I have a shittonne of brambles and the neighbours don't control them, so I dig up what I can and the rest is just cutting out what comes up. As no way killing it with poison stops it long term...

Victim is still not named. I don't know if it's a legal requirement here, other road death victims have been named this week.
Someone on social media claims to have given a witness statement to the police but no details have been released.
They wrote on there what they saw but that's speculation until confirmed.

My colleagues in Belfast were complaining about their car getting covered in aphid muck too.
We have a big Acer from the neighbours overhanging, lots of ants but also lots of hoverflies and rove beetles so no rain of aphid gunk when I'm out gardening.
The roses of course get their usual aphid visit, roll on the wren and tits and soapy water.

Perhaps the dodgy meat goes in pet food?
Not great either of course, but as an omnivore it is pretty easy to sniff out meat has gone off.
It is strange for sure...unless there are really dodgy places cleaning it up and putting it in stews or something?
Free movement for rotted meat but not for people ;)

Roses look great! Waiting on mine to bloom.
In the category tomato n00bs: What does "regular watering" mean. I mean that's what the RHS page states. Well, I normally only water plants when these really look sorry and then only if I really want to keep that one, the rest good luck to you! Darwinian gardening.
But with tomatoes that means you don't get a good fruit yield. I mean, 1 liter of water per plant a week if it's 20 degrees and sunny? Is that OK? What is regular? :)
Mine are in the raised bed in the sun.

Yeah that would be nasty timing for Labour.
But a spotcheck of lorries found rotted meat, how much can you lower the requirements on checks and how long can you kick the can down the road?
Non EU food is already checked, but you are really running on trust and there are always bandits (see also the horse lasagna moment).
Well, at least in NI we have "other problems"but at least food gets checked.

I am not sure why didn't report right away that he died. Perhaps there are some rules here that prevent detailed reporting and naming RTC victims?
I'll update once more is known, poor man.
RIP fellow cyclist, thoughts are with family and friends.
The roses are in full bloom. Still can't believe old neighbours were going to dump this, bit it does flower far better in our garden.
Some aphids nothing too serious. If you see that weird white thing I posted below. .it's a hoverfly larvae. They eat aphids so let them be.
