It's not so much the cash as the time; Rob built that for himself, the tubing is 4130 afaik so he probably didn't spend more than a few hundred on materials, and the time he put into it has been well rewarded in publicity for his business.
I assumed it was built for somebody with more cash than sense, if it's a hand built for himself then kudos. I would say any bike, even the most grotty rat bike that somebody has welded/fixed frame themselves has extra awesome points :)

Pubs are too busy serving ale to spivs, the bookies are too busy selling bets to those that can least afford it and all the shops are too busy chasing shoplifters. That leavers just butchers, hairdressers and a few others able to diversify into key-cutting. Butchers are harassed maniacs with sharp knifes. Any key cut from their chubby hand would be too roughshod, and likely covered in their blood and that of a cow. A customer would complain about this, I suspect.
A hairdresser is too busy daydreaming about next Saturday night out to care about your keys, or your hair. Their career is a permanent audition for the day they're plucked from the obscurity of a salon to the glory of a theatre stage, where they can make graceful swipes with a pair of scissors and toss about a comb as if it's a scalding hot iron-rod, in front of an audience with perfectly good house-keys already in their suburbia-creased trousers. Plus hairdressers live with friends only because they're incapable of opening a locked door on their own - wave a key in front of their nose and they'd look more gone out than usual.
Heh :)

I'll tell you what; when you can beat Rob in a 40km TT, you can tell him his bike sucks.
State Champion again in 2013
Said nothing about the rider. This has just lost all adjustability. But if you got the cash for a one-off that will only ever fit you... :)

^ that reminds me...some of the local CX swear by tubs.
Take two layers of tape and 5 layers of glue to stay on if I may believe the tales. But low pressure deformation on a tub will be more even I imagine as theres no rim edge involved in deformation. I guess that means better handling / ride quality?
As a tub n00b I'm still surprised how comfy a 22 mm tub is on shite city roads. If thread invent a self healing tub that'd be quite awesome :)

Part of being a 'good' road user is anticipating exactly when people aren't going to look.
I found it's a good rule to live by if you want to stay in one piece on a bike. Prevented me getting swiped today by driving moving off...not checking blind spot cos...why would you. It's only hammered into you during driving lessons :P
Or a car for that matter, first day on the road in my first car, idiot accelerating on my inside while I change lane. Yeah did did Indicate. Check Mirror. Checked blindspot. And he was there all of a sudden, swooping around me.
Expect the unexpected...

2006 Hyundai Amica CDX - 1.1 liter, some extras like airco/alloys.
First car, first day on the road. Nippy enough, not for fancy cornering work for sure, stalls a lot faster on starting than driving instructor's 1.6 Ford Focus, old people's car.
And perfect for school runs/plodding around town. Nice and narrow too, good for narrow streets. Happy enough. The bloody insurance rate won't leave much money to save for car nr 2...so let's hope it'll last for a few years!

So...get a quote online. Then get a quote from the insurance brokers. Then get the lower quote, phone brokers and see will they undercut the quote.
Bizarre. Some people advice...bending/being economical with the truth to knock money off. Either way, ridiculous money even with a second 20+ years licensed driver on it.
Ah well, the little certainties in life! BTW Direct Line worth a try...not on comparison sites.

Technically, my Ventus is a "handlestem", so yes. I think there are a few Integralters on the forum too.
Is there any clear advantage to them? I imagine the aero-profile is better than stem + handlebar.
As downsides I would image you need to be a 100% sure the stem...er...handlestem length is OK and the profile needs to match your hands. No swapping.

Bit of a bum note that one.
I'll be off to the jokes thread...
@nurseholliday and TS: Class to a lot of them you posted, lolled a few times. For real.

I'm calling Anti on this one, but am willing and half expecting to have to pull my trousers down for a flaming:

Doesn't float my boat, not anti either. Compared to some of the new TT bikes Trek/Specialized came out with it's a grace of classical beauty...

Great little movie. Watched it when it first came out and then again 2-3 years ago in Margate no less; one of them "one night only" sort of things. Wife didn't like it... left me shortly after ;)
Was on the run-up to me and the boyfriend getting together. That and Melancholia. Rom coms just don't do it sometimes... ;)
Cell 211 (Spanish movie) is very good too, watched The Brood not bad prefer Videodrome still. American Mary is surprisingly decent as it sounds bad on paper.

I'm happy with a 95% confidence interval most of the time, but that's just me.
