Bought this beautiful frame last year and decided not to use it over the winter. Now the sun's out I need to get it built and take it out riding!
Ive been slowly putting together a 1st Gen Chorus groupset for the build (c-record was too expensive/hard to source) and have most of the parts now. I also have a 10 speed Chorus group I may try at a later time, but it has to be vintage to start!
It really is a stunning frame, amazing build quality, and the paint is almost immaculate. I didnt realise it had repro decals when I bought it, they are the wrong size so may replace these at some point
Will update progress over the weekend..

Has anyone bought decals from Velocals in the US? they offer the following finishes for each decal set:
$39.95 Premium Cast 2mil Vinyl (for application before clear coat)
$57.95 High gloss UV Laminate finish (for finished frame)
$59.95 Premium Cast 1mil VinylI'm curious if anyone has tried the 2mm vinyl - whether they really look that thick and if they can be used without clear coat , the other options are quite pricey! I've had no response from velocals
Cyclomondo is the only other person who has the decals I want and he is away until June...
cheers

Thanks, I could use a 9 speed cassette but I have 8 speed jockeys and chainring if rather use an 8 speed chain hence need the extra spacing . I know it will probably work with a 9 speed chain but I wanted to keep it all consistent
Out of interest what cogs were you using with the spacer kit? I assumed the wheels mfg spacers allowed for the slightly narrower 9 speed cogs so indexed shifting shouldn't be an issue ?

Currently build has 8 speed friction shift set up but 9/10 speed campag hubs ( want to keep these wheels for now).
Does anyone have a set of 8 speed campag cassette spacers, or one of the hard to find wheels mfg spacer kits ? (I assume both the above are simple hoops with no splines) planning to use these with 9 speed cassette cogs .
My hub is the original 9 speed version not the newer ultra drive , see here:

Hi
Looking for vinyl Montello decals from early to mid 80's - these have a single Pinerello word down the centre of the seat tube rather than on each side.
like this
http://www.velocals.com/servlet/the-907/Pinarello/Detail
Ideally after head tube sticker and slx decals as well
Cyclcomondo is away for 5 weeks and havent heard back from Velocals for 2 weeks so does anyone have a spare set or can you recommend a quality alternative (uk) seller?
cheers

Kompute- do it! Would be great see yours. I initially bought an Asolo before this, unfortunately it was slightly too big. The build quality looked equal to me, beautiful frames.
