I think it was £80 including all the masking for the chrome and threads. £60 for a standard colour. They were very helpful but if I had a frame sprayed again I'd probably use Griffs as I hear they're better, but they wouldn't do candys as they'd had issues with it peeling or something. RPA are also right near the train station and I couldn't get to Griffs !
The first time RPA sprayed it there were patches where the blue lacquer was too thin, I had to get them to do it again and it went on a bit thick around the lugs the second time. Shame as its a stunning colour.

Gore Alp-X Windstopper Soft Shell Jacket on sale for £99.99 at Evans (RRP 169.99)
- picked one of these up last week, its a seriously nice bit of kit , good value even at full price. Been out in crisp cold weather and has kept me warm on a 2 hour ride with a jersey underneath, wore yesterday in the rain and it kept most of the wet out, only came through where it pooled on the creases, but I've had that happen on proper waterproofs as well! Also transforms to a gilet so can be used year round.
Looks like all sizes in red/black still available

it certainly didn't feel cross threaded as i could go all the way in easily, it just caused the spindle to stick ...
I took the whole thing out this morning , cleaned the threads again and greased the inside of the adjustable cup as well - it has a rubber seal around the inside that I thought maybe causing resistance.
I screwed the cup all the way in and out again a few times. It seems to have fixed the problem to the point I can get the cup in about 1mm off the shell, which I could fix with a spacer. Not sure what the problem was / is but seems ok for now . Bearings don't feel amazingly smooth but not really noticible when pedaling .

I've just installed a shimano BB-6500 cartridge bottom bracket that came with some second hand cranks
With just the drive side fully inserted the spindle turns smoothly but if I try to insert the adjustable cup fully, the bearings become rough and index
To keep the bearings smooth I have about 4mm of thread showing proud of the bb shell . Surely this can't be right? The cranks will install fine but it looks strange . Is it because the bearings are knackered that I can't fully insert the adjustable cup?
Thanks

After a hard winter tried some Cillet Bang with a scouring pad on mine and they looked almost new after a very light rub, rinsed them off immediately with water . Again cant vouch for long term effects but seem fine. Will update if they disintigrate over the next month!
