When you say order decent ones online: could I order a pair of Dura Ace axles, (as they seem available in abundance) and use those? Will the threads be the same?
You have spare cones and locknuts? You measure the diammeter and get assembled dura ace axles? Some custom threaded stainless or titan axles and new quality bearings? LBS or citchen would help you with some old axles so you figure out what you need? Haven't opened any Njs hubs yet, but i'd guess they went for the same axle threadings, could anybody confirm this?

Pphhheeewww..... So after a few days of not really knowing what was going on with the wheels the fella finally got in touch with me today, after having had 'Internet problems'!
So here's what's coming:
36h Araya 16B Tita Ace Gold (were NJS approved in 1993 - may or may not be NJS Stamped - if not then pre 1993)
36h Sansin Professional High Flange Hubs
Spokes unknown, but will be dismantling the set up to clean, polish and inspect and relacing with Hoshi or something similar..One thing I would like some help with:
The Sansin hubs have been fitted with axles/spindles for quick release skewers, and I want to replace these with solid track axles and nuts.Could I use, for example, a set of Dura Ace track spindles/axles as a replacement, as im finding it impossible to source Sansin ones?
What is the general opinion of Sansin Hubs? I don't think I've seen a single set floating around the forum? Everyone seems to go for Dura Ace?
I think my heart is still set on SunShine Professional bit I'm hoping the Sansin's will be in a good enough condition to be just fine!
Fingers crossed!
Regarding the axles, you could do it easy yourself. You would just need to have cone wrenches, measure them and build some custom axles or order some decent ones online.
E-bay can be tricky... I think the rims are a sweet hit, a bit worried about the threads on the hub (no decent picture) and removing the freewheel can be a drag.. Good luck with your build, it will be a looker!

some progress at last... hope the the bike will be built up till spring.. got some made up vinyl decals... mock up with the chinese aluminium-carbon wheels. will probably go for miche primato cranks and DP 18 laced to miche primato hubs... ultimately i'd like a mix of dura ace components, but i'm buying parts only when I got a cash extra...

some progress, fork rechromed (unfortunately no previous pictures of rusted look), headset mounted. rear wheel is gona get assembled these days and then going to have to think about the drivetrain (have some nice beaten White Ind. cranks that may polish up (will have to check about BB axle lenght), if not I'll be scavanging Wanted forum and e-bay for some used track cranks....

It's a public forum, everybody has right on stating his opinion. Not every opinion needs to be considered though. I keep my frames intact, but don't feel a need to bust his ass for chopping a bit. It's all fun and games. After this thread I feel like buying a classic pista and chop it to pieces just to be an attention whore for a minute :)

stayed out till now, cause i didnt wanna get flamed for my opinion, now that it has track ends, hope the fork has nice clearence as well... maybe go for some pearl white powdercoat and try to restore the old paint job with vinyl/car wrap (as an alternative to a expensive proper lack job)? anyhow, the frame got the attention here it wouldn't get for 50 more years rotting in a basement... wish you a lot of fun with it!

Having browsed several sites for modern Seamasters, pricing seem to vary quite dramatically.
What would you think a good price is for a Seamaster 2264.50? With box and papers.
Price will always variate on condition and papers. I'd suggest you not to be hasty, establish a real price after watchig on e-Bay some time and bid only on sales by thrustworthy sellers. I'd say anwhere between 1000 E (bargain) - 1300 E, depending where you live and given situation ofvcourse.
-
I find myself a bit meh about those branded chrono's. But it is a good way of making money as you say from people who think that they are buying a watch made by Junghans.
Well, it's not just that, I've sold quite a lot in e-Bay myself. What interests the collectors most is the history and originial condition (It's always the same questions as with bikes, "to respray or not to respray"). Condition and paperwork add on value of course. Almost nobody is buying something worth over 1000,- Euro if he/she doesn't know what is buying and espescially not online.
-
While I'm getting over my vintage watch buying frustrations I'm finding myself becoming quite fond of this
talking junghans, i have one going for sale :)

Generally on topic, my dad has been collecting wristwatches since I know of myself, mostly military, pilot and divers watches, big part of his collection going on Speedmasters. It's an incredible hobby, good way of investment and making money if you have enough knowledge on your account.

Sorry mate but I'd be losing out if I posted at 15euros! Good luck finding everything you need.
understand, seems to be main problem from UK.. but i got it here in wanted forum anyway as there seems to be a lot of people from mainland (netherland, france, germany - all these can probably do postage of packages under 10 euro). could go up to 20 euro if it makes any difference :)
P.S. @ howard - interested in forks, sending a PM.

FredyCro...no disrespect but 'rape' is perhaps not the best word to use.....'destroy' or 'ruin' might be more appropriate.
Yeah, probably, wasn't really considering the use when ordering this flashy spoke count rims, they did cost me "just" 150 notes with taxes and postage though.. From giving a quick look on Bay this days are gone... They are stiff and will hold true when driven "properly", just not ment for city potholes and curbs..

Looking for a rigid MTB 26" fork with a disc mount. Nothing fancy, just something to get my beater going. Color black, but will take about anything if it´s cheap enough. Willing to give out cca 40-80 euro inc shippment to austria depending on what you are offering.
Also, still looking for a TT lever or a pair if you need to get rid of both of them and a good 18 T track cog. Maybe someone also has one of these velosolo disc hub mount cogs to get rid off?
-
Hey, I have this, maybe you interested? It´s a chinese carbon-aluminium brake surface 42 mm laced to a 24 h fixed/free On-One hub with some DT spokes and red anodized aluminium nipples. I´m keeping the front wheel and building a stronger back wheel because I dont what to rape this one with my weight and bunny hoping. It´s been ridden a little, technically all going strong, pro hand built by an ex racer. Was re-dished a bit to fit and maybe needs a bit of truing.

so nice weather and my credit card push me to finalise this project, it's damn hard buying 50 euro BB as a student, my work on the side brings me about 7.5 euro per hour, but can't wait to actually sit on it and give it a proper ride..
anyhow, thanks to unit lost i had the fastest one day shippment in the world (nobody knows how this happened) from lithuania to austria in one day for this... some blemishes from use but will polish up brilliantly! Big thanks again to unit lost for good price and fast shippment..
Accordingly, after some googling I found out that I'll need an ISO taper BB (this left me with Ambrosio at Planet X or some more expensive Camagnolo BB.. luckily again, good price and find for a Campa Record 115mm BB (hope it will give good clearence and chainline spaced out on the place of the second chainring).
http://www.ebay.de/itm/261173588493?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
And finally placed an order on planet-X for this... it's just some first hand stuff to get me going with my old wheels...
Regarding the new wheels, they should have been the Miche primato red hubs on Rigida DP18, but I changed my mind about that, so I'll go for double fixed low flange DA from NJS export as soon as I have some money, laced with black DT spokes to Rigidas. I'll also be in the game for some MKS with double cage and straps. What I need now is a pair of DA 7400s calipers, as I'm not keen on running a dummy TT lever or paying the price of calipers for a 2:1 problem solver.
If there is anyone out there reading all this shit I write I'd love some response, ideas or whatever, I like to think it's my first serious project and that it will leave me with a bundle of quality parts which could be put on a real track frame, while this road frame could be transformed to a geared glory it never was.. Also, this is taking so long because I have a parallel project of a SS Montagner (Zombie, cracked and dented) and DMR Dirt bike I want to turn in a daily ride (Rigid fork, disc mount cog, kenda flames).
