Hippy has forgotten more about distance TTs than I ever intend to learn, listen to him, particularly about position. It might help, though, that if you can ride 65 miles at appx 15mph with your mates and your target is 20mph for the 100, you'll only be on the bike for a bit over half an hour longer. A fair bit of the speed increase will come from aeros and a bit more from concentration and not sitting up to wait for others. You won't be last!

Campag Omega are 80s rims. That bike would probably have run on something like Mavic Monthlery Pro or even GP4 (both tubs), but definitely box section low profile rims not V sections. Anything less than 36 spokes would have been daring at the time, laced to Campag Record (not C-Record). Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember....

Or just buy the Leader and find out that it looks good (questionable), but rides like a miserable pile of shit and weighs the same as a small planet.
You could always powder coat the Fondriest in the colour of your choice for less than £100, it'd be a sin and a waste of money in my view, but you'd still have a much better bike.

100 revs per 14g? It'd take the average fixie poseur a month per espresso.......
