I've been reading about Tom Simpson.
On his Wiki page the following is written,
He made his own saddle, a design which is now standard.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Simpson#Riding_style_and_legacyCan anyone elaborate on what the saddle design was before his, and which of the current saddle designs reflect this standard please?
Says here that:
"One of the complaints about ealy plastic racing saddles was a lack of breathability. Tom Simpson used to claim he had ridden the TdeF on his wife's handbag when, in fact, he had made a leather cover for a plastic saddle using one of her handbags"

An Israeli soldier has sparked outrage by posting a photograph appearing to show the back of a Palestinian boy's head in the crosshairs of his sniper rifle on a social networking site.

This is laughable:
Froome is not the greatest bike handler. He crashes quite a lot, and sometimes at strange moments. In the under-23 world time trial championship in 2006 he rode down the starting ramp and straight into a marshal. Competing in Paris-Roubaix two years later, he slammed into the back of a commissaire’s car. At last year’s Tour he toppled into the barriers at the start of stage one, before the racing had even begun. This week he came down on Tuesday, damaging his wrist, and gave up after falling twice more on Wednesday.
Two incidents from 8 and 6 years ago and then blaming him for getting taken out by another rider on Tuesday. And as a journalist I suppose he has forgotten that Froome was riding with a broken wrist the next day and didn't read Horner's comments about how the fall had nothing to do with bike handling.
After today I suppose he will have some insights in to Contador's abilities too.I've been erring on the 'what a load of bollocks' side regarding Froome's supposed crap bike handling but saw an interview the other day with Alex Dowsett, he was talking about riding with Froome at the tour de l'avenir. Apparently he'd power to the front with ease, then crash, get power back up to the front and crash again.
In fact, here's a link to it: Chris froome 2014 alex dowsett interveiw - YouTube

Why does Sagan always attack when he would be the favourite for the win sitting in the wheels? Maybe he just likes the challenge.
He was following van avermaet's attack but no-one else went with him. You could see him sit up after a bit and look back then think 'fuck it, i'll give it a go'. How far ahead would he have had to finish to get into yellow?

A massive, throbbing neglection.
