Logging back on to say definitively that you can get to Brandon with split ticketed off peak or anytime returns, don't pay £45.
Absolute cheapest is LST-CBG, CBG-ELY, ELY-BND. Change at Cambridge or Cambridge North. £24.80
2nd and slightly easier is LST-CBG, CBG-BND, and you can just change at Cambridge. £27.20
Both of those you're restricted to Greater Anglia trains.Fastest is KGX-ELY, ELY-BND. £31.20
I believe you can get on at Tottenham Hale with a ticket from LST becuase breaking your journey is allowed, but I'm less clear on that.

For me it's primarily the environmental concerns that will see me taking the train to Italy next time, rather than flying, but I think the amount of uncomfortable bike lugging might actually be less, as the distance you cover in an airport is pretty ridiculous, plus less meticulous packing and worrying about damage, and the ability to take another suitcase rather than having to jam everything into the bag, which will make it much easier to haul. Plus I like train journeys

Another big ol yes for the Lighthouse. Such a perfect expression of everything I love about cinema. The aspect ratio choice is great too, really locks you in to every little detail. I can't wait to see where Eggers goes next, the mastery of atmosphere and writing I think is unparalleled at the moment

Just in case anyone missed it, the ragu here is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Made a lasagne out if it today, simmering a portion of ragu with some canned tomatoes to bulk it out a bit.

The recipe there for lasagne is also incredible, but veganisation would need you to make a vegan bechamel, probably with some nootch, to replace the pecorino and parmesan and assemble it more traditionally

if the handling is so telepathic can't it ride itself to the destination and meet you there?
