Also, I think I'm almost certain that I'll be replacing my Dolan in the next few months with something big and steel that'll hopefully last me a lifetime, but I'm undecided on whether to hang on to the frame or not...
SO, if anyone local is absolutely desperate to get their hands on my Terry Dolan with a few bits like stem, headset, carbon forks thrown in to the mix, then let me know and we can work out a price for the bundle.
If not, I'll just hang on to it for a while/until Alex Dowsett wins a Grand Tour Time Trial or a Belgian Classic or something and hang it on the wall ;)

Right, so I've missed out on a couple of frames in the past few days and have come to the realisation that I'm not happy with my current frame (too small) and would like something steel that fits, rather than alu that doesn't!
I'm after a steel track frameset, 58cm seat tube c-c or above (up to that which would fit someone 6' 3") with aggressive geo but clearances for 28c tyres. Standard inch head tube, preferably with forks drilled, but that might be negotiable as I have some carbon threaded forks I could use instead assuming the total stack height doesn't exceed 23cm.
Ideally it'd be nicely painted, good quality steel - 531 and the like - and also old British, or if not, at least something standard British threaded with a bit of pedigree. If it helps, the two other frames I lusted over (but were beaten to) were these two - a Harry Quinn, and in particular Polasp's Bob Jackson:

If anyone has something that fills my admittedly picky criteria, it'd be great to hear from you.
Final consideration, as ever, is budget. I've probably got up to £300 for a frameset, but that would have to include postage to Norwich. I might be able to extend a little over that, but only if it's something really special/if I pay someone to "convince" the person who got their hands on that Bob Jackson to give it to me instead.
TL;DR - Steel, big, nice, posted = my money soon being your money.

Yeah I agree. Would be cool to get all of the fixed riders out of their respective holes and have everyone meet up to race/beer. I guess length would somewhat depend on the terrain. If you had, say, a cathedral to cathedral stage, that'd probably be far enough as a short blast with plenty of routes/traffic/peds, but something more rural/straightforward route might necessitate a longer distance?

I see. I didn't really think about gumwalls deteriorating aesthetically in the rain. Might not be best for someone who rides one bike all year round! That said, I'm very tempted by the Canelli frame in the main classifieds atm, and that practically demands gumwalls regardless of the rest of the build!
