In the process of building up a new road bike, thought I would share photos as it progresses. My other road bike is a right old steed but pink, so I am keeping the pink vibe going with this one. I was close to going carbon a few months ago but decided that for a similar price I could go custom steel with Kalavinka, and obviously have something pretty special. Firstly some from the design process and workshop, hope you like the photos.

They are road tyres, get some Vittoria diamante pista clinchers maybe?

Cool, probably not worth the risk then. At the keirin 2014 my pal had his front tyre blow full pelt down at HH, took a right chunk of carbon out of his 5 spoke!

Probably the best thread to ask this. Possibly racing sprint at the derny champs in July, would be a first time at Herne Hill. Have a set of mavics with pista evo cl fitted, would it be mad to ride these? Other option is just keep the training wheels on for the day.

You could use the pista cs elite outdoors and indoors, they are sturdy. Have the Evo CL on my fast wheels, lovely tyres but indoors only.

Really sluggish feeling, like clinchers, durability and grip no problem. The elite version are durable but much lighter, they feel like tubs when you use them.

Nice set of wheels from njs export (ex keirin around £200 with dura ace hubs), replace the tyres with vittoria pista cs elite (£40 each approx). The standard Pista CS tubs are shit, avoid. Proper track wheels, classier than cheap carbon.

We decided on a 57cm top tube and 58 seat tube. I am 180cm tall with an inseam of 88cm. Royal pink seemed appropriate so stuck with that paint choice and requested white/black decals. Frame was sent for painting and the results looked really promising.
