I ride in SF every day at the moment. The city is on a grid system - it can be a frustration of red lights at every corner. Just over the Golden Gate Bridge however, lies a cyclist wonderland. The winding road here is an 18% grade one-way road downhill. Own the road and let go of the brakes! Hella fun! :)
I spent six months on secondment is SF in 2008. Cycled around Marin County every weekend. It was and is the best riding of my life

what is the overall opinion about the winter gloves?
I have these atm: http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/gore-bike-wear-gore-gore-tex-winter-gloves-countdown/aid:440113Although they are nice and warm, no matter how cold it is my hands tend to get a bit sweaty (not a lot) but because of that when I take my hands out of them post ride the liner comes with it and it is REALLY REALLY hard to get it back in, apart from that they are nice.
I got a pair for Christmas and today was their first proper outing. Think they're great. A bit sweaty after use but I'll take that for how toasty my hands were all day

A recent convert by chance rather than design. I've got Veloflex Roubaix glued to Monthlery Pros. Best tyres I've ever ridden.
Available here at a reasonable price

Congratulations to the people of Texas, for putting on an absolutely fantastic Formula 1 race. One of the best tracks I've seen for ages. Superb racing.
As for Mercedes; I've seen some of the pundits saying that Hamilton is heading to a struggling team, but I disagree. I think Ross Brawn has stopped all development on the car, and Mercedes are totally focussed on next year. Its not the first time Brawn has done that, and the last time he did that, he reaped his rewards.
Yeah I think they'll give him a good car next year. I don't think he'll be a front runner until the turbos come back in 2014 though. Hope I'm wrong

Looking for some tubular advice if possible
Two weeks ago I fitted a pair of Veloflex Roubaix to my new road bike. First time I've used tubs.
Yesterday I snapped a spoke.
Is there a best method to getting the tyre off without damage so it can be re-fitted once the wheel is mended?
Heat the rim with a hairdryer to soften the glue?
Appreciate any advice

Don't ask me why but I've just spent 15 minutes looking at that entire road on street view. That tunnel is terrifying
