Apologies if this is the wrong forum, seemed appropriate. I need some steel tubing and have been advised of t45,however I would settle for any reasonably priced decent quality steel tubing. Problem is all the places I've found that supply t45 are for aircrafts and as such seem to have large minimum orders. I need 1m of 1 1/2" ext diameter, 1m of 1" ext diameter and 30cm of bar that will fit snuggly inside the 1" tube (so slightly smaller ext diameter than the internal diameter of the 1" tube).
So anyone know of somewhere I could buy these sizes of t45? Or even these lengths of other decent steel? Preferably in London.
All for the building of a tall bike. Nice one. -

I find the feeling that Ian (conker) said more common, on a bike with a freewheel I sometimes get a wee bit confused after first getting on. Saying this, at about 3am during the dun run I was thinking "oh I wish I had a freewheel..." and I think my legs got the wrong hint and tried to coast. The bucking sure did wake me up.

The bikes in florence weren't particularly pretty, but I don't think I've ever seen as many bikes just propped against walls. This was one of the better locked ones. I guess people just don't rob bikes over here.
When I was in Lucca I saw a cinelli vigorelli all kitted out and some other fixed gear bike I didn't identify cause was in a rush not locked to anything but each other and leaned against a wall. Legit anyone could have carried them off. They were also locked together with one of those 5 pound gummy locks. I guess bike theft isn't so problematic in Italy...

Dun run was in some way great and other ways not. Came up to the forum lot in London fields, but was too anxious to say anything to anyone until (probably a shit description but all I can think of right now) a sharkpitted muscular bloke with a sexy voice said I looked moody and said hello and after that I felt far more comfortable, left with a person I'd only met a couple times and never ridden with before, but they are a more "serious" cyclist than me and also on gears and me on fixed, so the gap opened up soon enough. Did almost it all on my own tailing various people. 48/17 was a bad choice, and though I'd happily do it single speed I don't think I'll be doing that kind of distance fixed again. Turned round from the beach pretty soon after getting there to go to Darsham station, and was back in London by half 11 for free :)
Very happy after my first dun run, considering my longest ride before this was about 30 miles! -

If you're riding fixed, you don't look like a cyclist who's stopping.
I never thought about that before but that's a dead good point. I guess most people's conception of bike riding is slowing down = stop pedalling so seeing someone pedalling up to the crossing makes them think you're not going to stop. Obviously doesn't take into account the fact that so many cyclists fixed or not blow throw ped crossings, but still, jolly good point.

Pair of Swrve regular trim fit indigo jeans size 34w 32l. Bought for £80, selling for £30 (originally was selling for £40),only worn a few times, no real wear or anything.

Looking for a steel frame and fork (well, just frame is okay too, but preferably frame and fork) with around 58cm top tube and 1" fork. It's to become a tall bike, not looking for anything nice, in fact quite the opposite, something shit and cheap as hell that I can weld to another frame. Already have the other frame hence the fork and tt specifications. Less than £50 a must.
Nice one! -

Bicycling is not inherently materialistic, however some people treat it in a way which makes it so. The constant coveting and n+1 attitude is consumerist bullshit, often an example of buying shit you don't need to try to mask discontent. However having practical things for practical reasons is rad. I think if you're getting pleasure out of the use of the thing in question, then it's not particularly problematic, but if it starts to become that the pleasure is more in the coveting, acquiring and owning of the thing in question then it can start to become problematic. It's almost inevitable that the good experiences of a thing will make you value said thing, it's just trying to make sure the balance is tipped the right way. But fuck it, if you have a problem with it don't do it, and just sneer at people who don't have a problem with it. Pissed off glances as revolutionary praxis.

Do you end up on your own because you are not a great person to ride with owing to being, you know, Dull?
I was just worried cause I haven't been to a forum event before and my friend who I was planning on riding with pulled out due to getting more into track racing!
Greetings Dull,
I'm sure your name is purely ironic. Not that the number of friends you have on here is any indication of popularity or dull-ness for that matter. But I did notice that you do not currently have any friends on here.
So friendship request sent.
Come on you lot let us make Dull very welcome....
Dull please let everyone know what sort of bike you are on, so on the ride
we can cheer you on your merry way.
You won't be alone, just turn up at London Fields by 8 pm and you will have thousands of friends ready to ride with you to the coast.
Peace and Love, especially from Ramaye....,
TimThanks so much for being so welcoming Tim! I'll be on this bike, my one and only: i.imgur.com/N11ERIO.jpg

Fair cop! Yeah I would need thinner than the wall thickness you got on your t45. This is just my first venture into this kind of thing. I'll just use cromoloy I reckon. Cheers!
