I had bont a2's for about 18 months and loved them, they fit superbly and were super stiff. I retired them in June and picked up a pair of bont riots which are complete w4nk in comparison, I almost prefer to ride my road bike with my old bontrager cx shoes!
As for pedals, I use r540's on my track bike and have never managed to pull my shoe out, though admittedly I wouldn't be pushing out that much peak power.
Next on my shopping list are a pair of nicer road shoes again, may just go with a2's again, or track vaypors, and a pair of straps.

I'm getting on ok with it, it can go fine enough to choke my gaggia anyway...
I'm pulling shots at a 1:2 brew ratio in 27/28s consistently, they look great but still trying to perfect taste, though I've yet to reduce OPV pressure, and learn to temperature surf.
Mine is new, so had the later shim kit added to tighten burr tolerance for finer grinds, so maybe that's what's holding you back from producing good espressos?
EDIT: Were you replying to dimi3's post or my post?

@dimi3 yeah perfect! I got my brother one for Christmas along with a v60 and was playing with it when I was back home over the holidays.

With a relocation to Ireland on the horizon, I am considering offering my trusty track steed up for sale. Its taken me to a handful of A cat podiums at Herne hill so a very capable machine.
Frame set is hoy fiorenzuola with standard stem and seat post, 3t handlebars, fizik antares saddle, SRAM omnium chain set, dura ace track hubs, Ambrosio rims. Few different chain rings and dura ace cogs.
About a years service on the frame, 2 months on the wheels.
Would probably sell for £600, otherwise I'll take it with me.

Anyone on here have any experience with a cunill/iberital brasil mc20 grinder?
Just committed to buying a used (albeit only for one month) one for not much more than a brand new iberital mc2.
Can't find much information online, other than the fact that it's got 60mm flat burrs, a 1kg hopper, 600g doser, 275w motor. It looks like a commercial machine, but with a relatively small motor.
Can anyone comment on whether it is significantly better than an mc2? Or would I be better with the new machine complete with warranty....

Looks like you've removed the allen bolts, it's probably never been removed and is sealed in place...
You could try putting a sacrificial screw into the hole where the shower plate screws on and go at it with a pliers?
Or if you plan to replace the gasket, you could try lever it off with a strong knife?
I'm sure someone more experienced will be along to tell you the best way to do it...
Have you taken the shower screen off and cleaned out the gunk that gathers behind that?
