probably the sram, ettix qs have had loads of trouble with the fsa rings shifting badly with di2 this season (how much of that is real or just riders jumping on a bandwagon I don't know, but presume the former) for that reason I'd go with sram
I'd honestly look into a praxis conversion bb though, I've not heard any creaking stories with them and the idea seems solid, and the front shifting will drastically be improved, if not maybe have a look into the turn zayante cranks? stiffest around and will have the next best shifting to Dura Ace rings with shimano, thanks to the praxis rings
this is food for thought:

Dura Ace 7900 Pedals and cleats - £72
Cleats are brand new and have instructions for installation and setup, the pedals are used but still functionally sound, bearings smooth, and their shimano pedals, they won't give up! A bit of scraping on the underside of the pedal is visible due to pedaling through the corner, but that's it really. The 7900's are the exact same as the current 9000's with the only difference being the 9000's have an option for +4mm on the axle length.

Catlike Whisper Helmet - £50
Worn twice with a cap underneath, just doesn't fit my headshape. Comes with spair pads and is in as expected very good condition.

Easton EC90 Seatpost - £42
Good condition, a really nice seatpost, 400mm long. Only flaw is it doesn't have the original lower part of the clamp, I'm fairly sure the previous owner swapped it out as they had problems with it and there was a recall, instead a Thomson one takes it's place and does the job just as well.
Pictures to followThomson 26.8mm Seatpost - £27
We all know what they are, super sturdy and do the job, this one has two over-tightening "pinch's", barely visible with the naked eye, but you can feel them, hence the low price. I'm 82kg and have ridden it with a full backpack, probably taking me close to £100 and it's been absolutely fine, no creaking, nothing.

the fact you're going 3x with 36 spokes makes it seem about right. But double check with the dt swiss calculator, it uses the same calculator as the edd one but also tells you recommended spoke length (as in not 289.7, but 288), double check you've got measurements right too, but all seems about right

Yeah that's the one, sram apex cranks with no chainrings come up occasionally for £20 or so, so lookout or them. Those 6600 fd's can get £15 easy, give me a bit and when I get home there was a guy interested in one after I sold mine, I'll forward him to you.
If you do go 1x though you may want a clutch rear mech wich really helps keeping the chain on, the cheapest for that is.... Sram, you could do that for cheap too though

Yeah, all those ones will work, so from the road: apex, rival, force or red, from the mtb: x7, x9, x0, and xx.
I'd aim for a road rear mech though as the placing of the upper pulley on the mtb mechs is slightly different and you're still using it with a road cassette, rival or force can be had cheap.
Levers I don't know too much, but you've got Shimano brakes, so these will probably do the job perfectly and are cheap too

You'd need the mount's for the shifters, which are a fair bit usually. And you wouldn't need the front mech as it's top pull (I think), plus the Ultegra 6600 one you've currently got on will probably do the job better.
Have a look at these/try and win them, the pair I messaged you went for £10posted so these won't go for much more, they've got the clamps already so you don't need to worry about that.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-of-Sram-X7-Shifters-/331528386997?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d30a1b9b5Then you can choose any old Sram 10 speed rear mech, road or mtb; doeable for a tenner depending on which level you choose. Will be much cheaper than buying that mini group
And like fredycro said, keep the crankset, chain, cassette the same, sell the 6600 shifters and rear mech and you'll make profit.

Yeah, Matthews was isolated from about 20km out, and BMC were able to just slow the peloton which bought the break about 10 seconds, very good riding from them.
If Matthews had Gerrans like he will on Sunday he'd probably have won I reckon, bookies seem to agree too, he went from 16/1 at the start of the week to 8/1 now. Will be interesting to see if he can stay with the likes of Valverde, Purrito and Martin if they really push it though.

I take everything that comes from the "win tunnel" with a pinch of salt, Specialized are going to be highly motivated to tell consumers there's no drawbacks aren't they?
The rim brake tarmac would also probably be quicker if it had hidden brakes or at least direct-mount, like most currently raced frames are, it's not the fairest of comparisons
As for citation, I honestly can't remember, there was a fairly big difference though that would mean most would still want a standard rim brake. I'll try and find it when Brabantse is over
-
Yes, but those modes of transportation all rely on stopping from higher speeds, quicker, and more often; assuming we're talking about actual racing? agree for commuting/city riding etc.
Pro's will hate the aero losses (which are currently pretty big) as well as the change in equipment, remembering the peloton is pretty traditional. They'll only care if it makes them faster, which they currently don't seem to drastically unless in very specific conditions
-
Even if the break goes, Orica have got a group of 4 diesels who will just sit on the front all day and reel it in, probably with help from BMC
No way Bertie makes it to the end of this stage, 260km of racing with hills and bearing in mind how much he climbs out of the saddle, with an arm that can't put a jersey on?! Good luck
I reckon it'll be a hilly sprint, Gilbert will try and go early, be followed by a few and then call it a day, then a race between Matthews and Lobato, then Felline coming with a late charge
