Heard a ping cycling over the weekend, then couldn’t tighten top cap when it came loose and started rattling. Investigated and found out the bolt had snapped and dropped the carbon expander bung down into the fork?
Dig them out and the bolt doesn’t even look like metal.
Hmm.
Anyone recommend me a solid expander/ topcap for carbon forks?

Right. I’ve quit my job, I’ve read the article linked below, and I’m thinking about copying it. Anyone got any sage bits of advice, or done sections of this? Would be leaving in August.

Why? Don’t understand the physics of this. Was jangling, took it apart, bolt had snapped and dropped the expanding wedge and bottom part into the forks. caad10, carbon steerer.
