They're just not the same I really want to go for full Japanese and as NJS as possible.
I don't mind non NJS, just has to be Araya.I can see the appeal, they're great looking rims. I think also the fact that they're available off the shelf puts me off a little, I'm looking for something different if not the Golds

I've been toying with a girlfriend build for a while now, but ultimately she will have to prove to me her respect of the ways of cycling and cycle building before she is even remotely worthy... All I'm getting recently is "you love bikes more than me".........
.......Would be a tough decision if it came down to it

Wheelbuilding tiiiiimmmmmeee
Just popped down to LBS to get rims and hubs laced with the Hoshi's and the fella (who i trust implicitly) has told me to go buy some new rims as he wouldn't lace my hubs to "knackered tubs"........
So!
Anybody got a pair of 16b Gold Araya NJS Tubs or some other Japanese substitute, such as Araya RS 430's?
PLEASE!!?!??!?

All the stuff i've ever got from Japan (all from NJS Export/Kagetsuen) has taken less than 7 days from JP to my local Parcelforce depot, i dont bother arranging delivery, pop by the depot, pay the charges there and then and take away in my hand. Ive recieved the little tearoff slips from parcelforce detailing the charges and how to pay them over a week after having already picked the package up, i think that might be the main holdup.
I just always make sure to keep an eye on the track and trace via Parcelforce's website, i find it highly accurate and has never failed me yet, and id say over the last 3 months received 20+ packages from overseas, mainly Japan & America. -

ok ok ok im almost there!
Dura Ace 7500 cranks are in the country, somewhere, needs customs paying then delivery - on that today
Dura Ace 7500 Chainring - apparently (according to tracking) still stateside!?!
Dura Ace 7500 Bottom Bracket - same as above - been well over 10 days now
(really have to applaud the guys at Kagautsen - Toshi in particular - (NJS Export's ebay shop) for getting the cranks shipped to uk in about 3 days - keep up america!)
pretty much everything is here for wheels - awaiting a delivery of Hoshi Spokes today from the guys at Tokyo Fixed - Jamie and Morgan sorted me out there - really helpful fellow's
im literally playing a waiting game for parts - no more fucking about with plans, i have full 7500 groupset now and that isn't going to change!!!
As soon as parts arrive il start documenting build again!!

Just found this in my dad's garage, remembered he had a stash of old frames, think this is all thats left after a recent clearout.
Does anyone know much about Quinn frames?
Im a bit baffled by the serial number as i thought early models all started with Q
Some crazy lugs on the forks and the paintwork, even tho pretty fcuked, is an incredible pearlescent creamy white with a slight sparkle in it where there are clean patches
may have just found my next project.....
any thoughts or tips, maybe a couple of Quinn experts out there?..

In an update of this, ive just found a little more info, turns out it could be an 80's Quinn frame
There are three bikes about 7 from the bottom of this list which all look pretty much the same style lug work etc:

Yeah i did notice after spending the last few months pawing over the Nag that this looked horribly cheap in comparison.
from a light bit of research in between selling and then re-buying 'Harry Quinn' the bikes were made abroad, and often as HQ badged Townsend and Falcon frames, i hazard a guess that if this wasnt an HQ respray, then this is just a cheap frame badged as a HQ
