Do you reckon keeping more of the players that got you up in the first place would have helped (like the others that got promotion)?
Warnock had the promotion team whilst tango and cash were still the owners and failed to give him any money to spend.
The new owner did make some money available last january .The problem as far as I can see is that Mark Hughes spent a great deal of money on players that either are not good enough or dont care enough.
Also Tony Fernando stuck by hughes far too long. This was because hughes was his choice of manager . possibly also to do with the fact that tango and cash sacked manangers every few months.

I have a 2nd hand pomp , with mud guards and a flat bar. I also own a Macinato. The "mincer" looks nice , but to be honest I prefere the pomp. I've never had a drop bar bike before and don't really like riding it.
I'm thinking of making the "mincer" flat bar and putting the drop bar on the pomp and perhaps getting a 3 speed hub creating a sort of tourer type bike.

did 30 miles this morning . could have done more really. Seemed like quite a few road bikes out today. The first two i saw waved like we were old mates. The next few (full team kit ) blanked me .
This seems to be the norm for road people , as im on a flat bar and not in full team lyrca gimp suit im not in their gang and not worthy of nodding at. Shame really, we're all doing the same hobby . you don't see many bikes out this way.Anyway I rode from Ruislip to Northwood , Harefield , Uxbridge, Iver, Denham , Uxbridge again, Hillingdon hill, vine lane , Hillingdon and back to ruislip.

went out today , before the rain came down. Got 20 miles in . pinner, harefield , denham, Uxbridge . Then the back way into Ruislip.
Most drivers seemed to give me a very wide berth.
2 vans and a skip lorry seemed like they got as close as they could , as fast as they could in order to scare me . Tossers .
Very few bikes out .
One old boy in Denham village on a tourer. -

Might be good to do a forum ride to Brighton on Mayday?
EDIT: Mayday is on Monday 6th. So a group ride could possibly be done on the Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Since it's a Mayday ride, maybe it's something the forum Clarion group would want to get in on.
May the 6th in the IOW randonnee date , I think .

Repped, ace attitude.
I was feeling a bit guilty about not having been on a proper ride today, so I went for out for a little evening jaunt around Highgate. I decided to do every*hill once, and then went up Swains again at the end for a little treat.
The first time I was heading up Swains, there was a group of about twenty out on some kind of guided walk. As my heavy panting became audible, one woman turned around and shouted "Come on!" and all of a sudden all twenty of them were egging me on. It was one of the best things I have ever experienced on a bike.
Descending Highgate West fixed was worse than ever with the slipperiness and my way past acceptable front tyre. And I realised tonight that going up it is even worse, and something I'd never done before.
On the way home I remembered I'd never actually made it up Swains fixed before, my previous two attempts failed due to heavy panniers, and then the fact that I tried it after my first Intermediate session at Herne Hill.
Pretty rewarding all in all, I'm really glad I went out, and my tea smells amazing.
I've never tried Swains lane before .
I did get half way up highgate west hill in the summer on a fixed 46/16 Pomp.I was on my way to work and didnt really make the effort. I will attempt swains lane asap.

Oh, ok. I will attempt to post the next ride correctly.
