I did 60 odd miles from ruislip to windsor then followed the Thames to sheen. . Askew rd to Uxbridge road , would have done more but ran out of time . Shouting match with van driver in Kingston . I want to be able to do the dun run next year so am upping the mileage by 10 each month till im able to ride 100 + miles . So far so good.

Had a few bottles of Thwaits Tavern Porter tonight, used one to make a Steak and Ale pie and drunk the rest.
Nice, slightly spicy, dark and oaky, not overpowering and really very drinkable. I'm tiny and don't usually get on well with porters* so this is excellent. Apparently you can only get it in Morrisons, but I'd recommend it.

*apart from Anchor Porter which is the perfect porter. The rest of the Anchor range is shite though.
Yes that is a nice drink . Not as nice as the London porters . Fullers , then the best Porter ever made . Meantime .

I use this rule when jumping red lights .
would I cross if i were on Foot ?
If the answer is yes . I jump the light .
apart from the push bike , I ride a motorbike , I also used to drive a bus , I think im reasonably good at reading a road and dont do that many silly things whislt driving/cycling etc.I do filter to the front of red lights on the push bike much the same way as i would if on the motorbike,

A second hello, I've been on the forum slightly too much over the years, but have never been involved in meatspace. I'm headed for brunel product design this year, and while scrabbling around trying to avoid living in a plastic box on campus, I noticed how close it was to the canal - after a few months avidly searching the internet and trekking around boaytyards, I'm now sitting aboard a 40ft norton canes above marsworth top lock, on my way to london.
Hopefully I'll make it to wests soonish, and I think I'll be heading to paddington or camden every now and then for a long weekend.
Incedentally, any other forumers at brunel? I have spoken to moog a bit, I think he graduated this year though.Brunel in Uxbridge has some great tow path rides out to harefield and Rickmonsworth. There is the slough Arm of the canal that will take you out to windsor and you could go into town to Camden or Hackney etc, .
