Ok, I'll have a think...as not sure I've got room for 2 bikes and really wanted to do a single speed project.

I don't want to buy a OTP cheap fixie, I wanted to build a single speed from something old because I'll enjoy it and end up with something I created...

If you're saying this is just totally the wrong frame then I'll give it away and just look to buy another old bike for such a restoration...but ideally with more race geometry.

I've just got my hands on a 1960's Viking Allrounder (54cm) so it's small but feels nice and light...I'm only 5'9" and got short legs as well so should fit nicely!

I want to strip it, get it powder coated and then convert it to a single speed lightweight commuter.

Questions:
1) I need new 27" wheels, suggestions?
2) Can I re-use the BB and Crank, Chainset or does it need replacing?
3) I'd like to put the decal badge back on after the power coat but what's the best way to get it off and then back on?
4) Where other than the classifieds would you recommend I get parts from, I def need to get an extended stem, bull bars etc

Just about to start this project...1960 Viking Allrounder 54cm (sml)...I need guidance on wheels 17" (want single speed) and also a nice extended stem, bull bars not to mention BB, crank, chain...basically everything...I'm a newbie!

I've just collect a Viking Allrounder Serial 120263 it's a 54cm so small but should be nice and light once I've finished with it!

Ernest...that's the exact type of badge that's on my Viking Allrounder...I want to get the bike powder coated soon, how do I best remove the badge and then put it back afterwards?

And members in the Reading or ideally the Henley on Thames area?

Any recommendations for south Oxfordshire...I'm in Henley and need to get a Viking frame sand blasted or dipped and then powder coated?

I'm also keen to get a new headbadge, I've found a company that has the transfers available for the 50's and 60's models.

Just purchased a Viking Grand Tourer, going to strip it, get it powder coated and then rebuild it...aiming to keep it looking classic but as a single speed with bull bars etc...
