Buy some decent, non-shedding brushes for cutting in the edges,
then buy and learn to use a roller.
Start with the smallest / least used room until you have learnt to
equally load up the roller with paint.

Wash down the paper with Sugar Soap, with two buckets.
One has the sugar soap solution,
the other is the rinsing water for the rag/cloth you are using to wash/clean your wall paper.
Change the rinsing water frequently, as soon as neccessary, so you are only ever washing the walls with clean sugar soap solution.

Quality water based paint can be 'let down' with 10-15% water to thin it,
for the first coat,
to reduce the 'grab' of dry wallpaper as the roller makes first impact.

Coming from a different use,
one of the deciding factors was whether there was some sort of clutch/release mechanism
that allowed a rapid return of the powered arm to the start of its vector of motion.

As Guy Martin is a promoter of engineering, I was disappointed he did not have a dual/flipflop(?) rear hub to allow a slightly easier ratio for the hilly sections, let alone a smallfurry close ratio front dual chainset.

I had a similar problem in late Spring early Summer.
(Diesel) car would not start after a wet week of no usage.
Battery attached to charger, overnight, started fine.
(Noted battery had indeterminate QA/QC sticker '10/11'.
either way 5 or 6 years showing at end of life).

Failed to start the following week,
picked up a Bosch S4 from Costco,
for the same price, (cost + delivery) as the online battery 'shops'.

Month later, battery warning light illuminated on dashboard,
sure enough alternator was on the way out,
as checked by MOT garage I use, alternator only producing an 'under-voltage' output.

Hopefully electrics now sorted for Winter.
