Where are these Legions of the Left that will wreck any Starmer majority?
I remember that the nomination paper for Corbyn to stand for the Labour leadership, (it was his 'turn' to lose as the token Tribune Group representative), had some decidedly rightwing Labour MPs who believed in a democratic election, because there were not enough Tribunites to meet the minimum number of nominees.
With Starmer/ his team controlling access to the prospective candidate list, how many 'of the Left' can there possibly be? -
As long as fungal inhabitants of a garden are not Honey Fungus, (the above look to be the wrong colour, so you're safe), they are an indicator of a healthy soil.
It is the symbiotic interplay between plant roots and fungal hyphae that contributes to soil health, with fungal activation of phosphate minerals from the soil being 'traded' for sugars with plant roots being the most commonly referenced.As long as you don't have a child who might be tempted to eat the above fruiting bodies, just leave them. If you really don't like them, collect them and put them in your compost bin.
Gievn suitable weather conditions, (normally in the UK 'Autumnal', reasonable temperatures, damp, but no frost), they'll be back.

National Service loses momentum, so a standing down Tory MP steps in;

Doesn't Rishi remember this;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Citizen_ServiceHe could even have asked Cameron about it,
probably at a military airfield, where their flight schedules coincided. -

The Tory obsession with uniforms resurfaces every now and again.
I seem to remember Gove when Education minister had a plan for Free Schools and possibly academies to resurrect the Combined Cadet Force.National Service was discussed somehwere in the wilderness of the last 14 years.
The Army were against it. They don't have the facilities for the numbers involved,
and have enough trouble motivating people who have signed up let alone those
who would be pressganged.Going further back, Willie Whitelaw, Home Secretary to Thatcher, had the 'short sharp shock'
for miscreants/borstal kids.
The summary was that this program produced a fitter miscreant who could more easily outrun Plod. -

Through the Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve Management Advisory Group,
I've done some work with the Brunel University volunteers programme.
After some form filling, and attending (twice) the Brunel Volunteers Fayre,
(You get a stand to display what you do and make a pitch to potentially interested students),
we orgainsed three events, where students could come and help us dig offline ponds in Park Wood SSSI, to help create micro-habitats to encourage reptiles and amphibians,
and,
increase the array of Natural Flood Management installations to reduce the flood risk for the residential properties between the woods and the local river.On Friday, I was invited to the Awards evening, where it was revealed that 908 Brunel students volunteered for over 18017 hours in this (academic) year, with the best individual figures being 551 and 430 hours.
Local MP, (Cllr Steve Tuckwell, 'Tory hero' of the anti-ULEZ Uxbridge & South Ruislip bye-election campaign last year, nowhere to be seen, although the Mayor, (Tory), of LBHillingdon was present.

Any reputable supplier of aggregates should have a 'draining Type 1' available.
Rather than 56mm to dust, I've seen, in London a 40-20mm sieving offered.
Still compacts down, with sufficient interlock, but plenty of voids to allow permeability.
Remember to wrap this layer of permeable aggregate in a geotextile to prevent soil heave and fines washing in to block the voids -

Is 'COPPEN' meant to translate as coping stone,
the full width components leading down and away from the chimney stack.'Granit', (granite?), when crushed into a powder or fine gravels has no particular waterproofing properties.
Any cementitious site mixed grout or mortar will have poor adhesion and will shrink and crack,
leading to further water ingress.
A quality elastomeric sealant will give good unprimed adhesion, bonding to the coping stones with a waterproof seal.
Depending upon ease of access, there's barely a morning's work rebedding those coping stones.
From a Class War viewpoint, (not a member), Diane Abbott needs to he sacked off/given a peerage for sending her offspring into private education.
