@mespilus, is that your ammaco? What did you do with it?
The Ammaco 4130 Tony Doyle, and two other wrecks emerged from my dump zone at the end of the garden recently. (I trimmed back the blackberries to try to ensure the rainwater from the garage roof went to a plastic barrel, and 'remembered' they were there).
The plan is to get it back on the road as my (very) cheap/downmarket Surley Steamroller copy.
It may be force mated with an 8-speed Nexus hub changer, in a 700c wheel, I got for a bargain this Summer.I'm tempted by a(nother) wreck on Gumtree that claims to have a functioning front wheel with hub break,
to make a low maintenance beater. -

^^^^^^^^
Aston Martin's first foray into bicycle manufacture was the 1994 Aston Martin pursuit bike built for Tony Doyle to do a series of demonstration rides in North America to promote the DB9. It was essentially a Chas Roberts frame shrouded in carbon fibre to give teardrop sections to the downtube and seat stays. The rear of the seat tube was also profiled to wrap around the rear wheel. In addition it had a monobladed front fork and a bespoke aero section seatpost and stem. The wheels were Specialized DuPont tri spokes. In my honest opinion, its modern counterpart is certainly a bit of a let down in comparison.
I have an old Tony Doyle bike.
Sadly it is just an Ammaco 4130. -
After you've filled your belly at Makan, (+1)
try the Orange Camper Van Coffee guy.
On a Sunday he has an array of seats 30 yards north
of Makan, opposite the Portobello Green techno-sail
and not as far as the Felafel King.
On a Saturday he is along the Westway, sometimes as far as
Ladbroke Grove.
Good coffee & smiling service.Talking of felafel the Egyptian guy in the stand by Tesco
does a great felafel roll for £3-4. (Not there on a Sunday though)
Get yourself a Turkish wife or partner,
and
Sumak becomes a regular condiment.
