Let’s put this link here because that book quotation has gone viral and
everyonea lot of people are sending it around as if the two pages – “Wuhan 400” & “In around 2020” – are from the same book. One is from 1981 and the other 2008.

I think however that there also needs to be a bit more room for people to admit what they said / wrote was, e.g., racist, without everyone immediately seeing them, i.e. their entire personality / character, as racists and completely writing them off. So basically, people need to be able to recognise sometimes that they did something wrong, reflect on that, and try to improve, but others also need to give them some space to do that.
This segment of the latest episode of ‘On the Media’ has a great conversation about cancel culture and touches on what people were writing here about Alastair Stewart.

I watched all of The Witcher and still can’t believe how bad the acting is. Even the one line characters deliver them with absolute rigidity. Is it the script?
Then there’s the distinct lack of any sense of time throughout the whole show. So you end up with characters saying things like “I’ve been doing this for decades”, but you’ve only seen them do about three things. To me it felt like watching a plot that should have been spread over multiple seasons, crammed into one, without a single drop of character development.
Roll on season 2.

I only see this entire impeachment process benefiting the Trump re-election campaign. If you already believe in the world view that Trump has sold - of him as a political outsider standing up to the Democrats and the fake liberal media yada yada yada - then this confirms it. He’s already weaponising the impeachment to embolden that opinion among his base.
This really does feel like a huge moment in the era of post truth. Undeniable facts are denied, publicly and we’re left with people simply picking their side.
Like others have said, Republicans have all fallen in line and chosen power over the truth, he’ll be acquitted in the senate and I can’t see how any Democrat beats him in 2020.
Trump said it well himself:
“It doesn’t really feel like we’re being impeached,” he said, to cheers. “This lawless partisan impeachment is a political suicide march for the Democrat party.”

Chain and cog question, but on an indoor spin bike. Chain seems to be rattling and kind of shaking about, anything I can do to get the noise down or am I expecting too much?
