Which one is inconstant? From what I gather all those mentioned (P2M, Quarq and Powertap) have a good reputation.

I wouldn't say it has to be much more spendy. Have a look at the P2M NGeco, if you buy spider only it's comparable with some Left only units. Also look at Quarq, the Dzero crank is sub £500 on CRC.

If you do decide on hub, expect a new disc version G4 to be out soon (ok maybe early 2019). I think the current G3 requires proprietary rotors.

I've had the Ortlieb 2.7L for years, it won't win any style points on IG but it's a good system. Depending on your bike, it tends not to rub anywhere near as much as bikepacker kit.

And while looking into it, I see there is now a new 4s frameset with thru axles and some better colours.

Anyone using a sleek rack and mud guards on a 4S disc? It's a bit off faff with a shared mounting point.

Tried to put on a Tortec Velocity from another bike and the shape of the stays just doesn't work.
Thinking maybe a Tubus Vega but spendy if it doesn't fit.

Very muddy central race hosted by KWCC at Bedfont lakes. Lacking experience I ran my tyres a bit hard and hit the deck at least 5 times . Managed 21st but let a better finish slip and slide away..

Herne Hill summer series triggered a move to tubeless & I could feel the rim taking a few hits in the run up to the climb, totally worth it.

Enjoyed HHV today, better routing than the Summer Series - especially the start - and managed my season target for a top 20 finish.
