I'm guessing removal of that hanger and trying to run it fixed in what looks like a rear facing dropout will = wheel pressed into the frame(?)

It's a little frankenbike which is why my inner child is liking it, not sure I'd ever actually run knobblies! The stack is a little steep isn't it, nearly 2cm lower than the others. My bike fitter would point me toward the Al/725.

My main use is on road with panniers and the odd road race/tour/week in the alps/gravel weekend..one bike to rule them all(?!!). Now you don't see many carbon bikes with pannier mounts which sets off some alarms. I've asked for photos of one loaded but they haven't got any yet.

You'd likey get about that for new Apex1, 3rd party chainset a bit annoying but yeah.

This gets my inner child quite excited but the steel is also growing on me or the Al. tbh they all seem great in their own way.

Shame the frameset pricing is off but I guess this is just them being smart and encouraging you to build a bike.

What are ribble like with sales, they've not touched down yet so assume it would be a long wait.

Worth buying the 725 as a bike and stripping? on the SL I think you'd be at least £100 better off after all the hassle.

Ribble CGR SL, I see a few people here have ordered the Al but tempted by the crabon version. Stacks up as a light road bike that can take guards/panniers, be stripped back for the odd road race but then take massive tyres. Beside looking a bit silly with 25c tyres, what's the catch? Will the geometry feel lacking on the road? Guess I need to wait for some reviews.

That was quite the circuit, the giant banks weren't so bad in the end - at no point did I attempt to ride the big one! but a bit of a buzz dropping back down and the down hill to the start/finish was ace. 13th in the end, washed out a few times and let a group go but happy with that.

Hope if you want loud looking hubs, the RS hubs are v.quiet - pro or con - you decide.
Also have Hunt gravel, nothing good or bad to say on those, do the job.
I'd trust the Hope to last longer - but that's based on nothing but a hunch and years of using Hope hubs.

You could always see what wheelsmith or lightbicycle can build up.
