My beater. Ready for a run to the chip shop/pub etc. Love it, even with all it's knackered parts. The frame is a BSA, everything else is from the parts bin of Superluca (forum member and previous owner) and my garage. I might put the Brooks saddle back on that came with it but it is in a pretty sorry state. -

Just got a Tortec rear rack. Very similar to the Topeak one, but a shade cheaper, and it was in a LBS so i picked it up. Also got some Tioga power stud bar ends. Pics up whaen i get round to attaching.
Also. My ss bits are back on the mtb as it is on commuting duty again (The other commuter got a fancy front wheel so didn't want to risk it at work). So i am weighing up gear ratios and costs to get a single front chainring and maybe a couple of ss cogs/spacers. Ill order the horizontal dropouts from Planet X and have a play round with gear ratio options. -

The beater i bought from Luca. Found a BMX seatpost (with seat) that fitted. 26mm post. Had a look under BB looks like the frame is an old BSA. Since this pic i have stuck a rear brake on (with a red bmx lever to add to the mismatched character). Looking for a box/basket to lash to the rack so i can make runs to the fish and chip shop as well as the pub. Cheers for this bike Luca. Took it out for a spin and couldn't stop smiling.

Same here. There are loads of frames out there. S'pose it depends on budget and if you plan to actually use it on the track or (like me) use it on long flat cycleways/roads. I see Dolan pre-cursas are going fairly cheap. Also Planet x have a good range of options. I am holding out for a forum member with something used and reasonably priced. Good luck with yours.

Due to the purchase of a set of SRAM Foces calipers with Swissstop Green pads.....these calipers are surplus to requirements.

Shimano 105 DP calipers [BR-1055 SLR-AK] in very good condition...champagne colour...bought from Furious Tiles last year.....pads have been replaced with BR-5700 pads from CRC but reside in a combination of Clarkes and Bontrager pad holders.....no play in the arms
Please note the pads/holders at the front of the pic are sold.
**£17 collected **
If the 105s are still available i have a mate who is interested.

As my tourer nears completion, and i realise a life without gears is a good one, i have a plan for a new project.
I want to put together a track bike for weekend rides. By that i mean finding long cycle paths (like our guided busway) to do laps/circuits on.
As money is always fairly tight, this will have to be a carefully considered and well researched build.
Frame does not have to be new. A good second hand track frame will do.
Will be running a front brake.
Happy to mix components, all ideas welcome.
I am a six footer with a 33" inner leg (if that helps suggestions of particular frames).
I am not a serious Wiggo or Hoy, just doing this for fun and exercise.
Keeping my eyes open for a frame/frameset first and then go from there.
Watch this space.

On the off chance i make it to a polo session soon ,and decide to join in, would my ss mtb be any good as a polo bike? It's on my profile page. I am guessing if i did take up the odd polo sesh then a different gear ratio would be needed. I am planning to replace the sus forks anyway so there wouldn't be much else to do to the bike.
