Seriously though, as someone out of mtb for years now, how available are 650b tyres?
Not common enough to be trickling into sales , esp if bird is pitching itself as cheaper it needs to consider the fact that 650b may not be cheap to repair/replace bits and therefore would be a little backwards to go 650b if they want to be high value

Some detailed opinion about 20mph 2000pcu here.
http://rachelaldred.org/writing/20mph-2000pcu-using-it-for-local-campaigning/
She highlights Hackney as somewhere where changes have been implemented that move towards that goal. Though I think it is important to realise that borough has not been dominated by campaigns for strict segregation, Rachel picks a good example of a road that has been freed up for bikes but car access has been restricted as somewhere where infrastructure is working.
Does this essentially mean of the 2000pcu 85% must be under the speed limit for it to qualify as succesful ?

Aw - sorry about your losses, Simon and James. No matter how long a pet lives, it always seems far too short. I dread the day any of my pets dies, but life would be much poorer without having had them at all.
Yeah that x100 , he only lived to 7 months after a bout of wet tail but he spent his last month being fed babyfood and antibiotics round the which has pretty much put me off ever having kids now

I heard another story today about alleged 'skeleton key' use when stealing a bike locked with a popular choice of lock (a good one). The person in question had locked his bike to his friend's with her lock and when they returned, her bike was still locked up there but his was gone. It's unlikely that they cut through his frame, as his bike was reassuringly expensive.
These stories have been around for years but I've never seen any clear proof of them, and it is possible that the lock may simply have been picked; one (self-alleged) witness of such a picking I once met claimed that it looked just like someone unlocking a lock.
It takes skill and there probably aren't too many thieves around who use this technique, but it is one of the oldest ways of defeating locks, after all.
Picking a single sided key barrel lock isn't hard in the slightest but doing it quickly takes practice , which lock was it out of interest ?

Thx but they are kind of boring even though I might end up with one ;)
Buy one you know you want to , my frame cost me 69 quid including postage on the account it had a minor to say the least scratch under the stem on the head tube , get one on clearance , build it up and buy a nicer frame if you ever feel the need
Keep it in private
