Thanks both.
I want it for the most basic things, really. To pretend I’m in the UK when I’m not (for example to use my Discovery+ subscription and watch the Vuelta) and to - possibly - have the benefit of cheaper flights etc by trying different locations.
Any added security it brings is an added bonus.
Effort-wise: little to none, if I’m being totally honest.

Thanks to @gojira54 - I got the EveryTile app working properly. 🦖
Picked a few squares on a Radlett, Hemel, Redbourn, Hatfield, Hadley route - didn’t extend the x by grid though.

I think the general French disinterest in dietary requirements, that don’t line up with typical French cuisine, definitely contributed to the experience.
But I agree, I was a bit put out at the lack of trying to make me welcome on first time of meeting that particular branch of extended family, which I accept is not something to be attributed based on nationality!
The bread lunch was at a restaurant in a private function room, but don’t worry dinner back at their home saved the day - that was a vegetarian salad with lardons…

I never remembered to post in here, but we’ve had two stag beetles (Lesser variety) in our garden in the past few weeks.
Reported through the London Wildlife Trust portal because they’re apparently quite rare!
Guy in the photo was actually just inside our patio door, next to the bed and had some dust on him. I moved him outside to the gravel, and then into some foliage.

We “transferred” at SFO, onto a domestic flight to LAX. Only trouble is our LHR-SFO flight was delayed and then the immigration queue was huge. And they didn’t give a single shite about those trying to “transfer”.
So we missed our planned SFO-LAX flight and went on standby (successfully) for another flight. It was the Thursday before Easter weekend and if we hadn’t got on that flight, that was it until Easter Monday.
And, again, no one gave a shite.
If our friends move back to London (she’s from SoCal, he’s from Melbourne) then I’ll happily never go to the US again.
“Transfer” - not really a thing in the US, given you have to enter the country before leaving again.
Will have a look - thanks.
