I was being cheeky and riding the dirt trails instead of doing a road lap.

I drove 6 miles to go ride my bike for 10miles in Richmond park and then drove home.

Went don't today to help Charlie map the course, it's looking awesome and anyone on the fence should totally commit and enter!

Update:

I figured out the draw on my battery and it was so silly, the key was getting stuck in the start up position so it was drawing power as if starting when I was driving, also why the instrument cluster and windscreen wipers had stopped working. I installed a brand new 100amp alternator and it's working perfectly.

Drove around 70 miles today and it went perfectly apart from one of the little dayligth running lights and a tail light stopping working but I'm confident they're easy fixes. Hoping to replace the head gasket and apply some of the insulation matt I've bought to the footwells and firewall.

I've got new floor matts on the way and hopefully picking up some van sides to replace the rattly and leaky rear windows soon.

This car really is starting to become a nice place to be.

Edit: Also spotted a really lovely 130 double cab pickup in dark blue.

Defender update:
today the heater stopped working, windscreen wipers stopped working, instrument panel stopped working, weird noise from fuse box, key snapped in door and then the battery completely died and I left the car a few miles from home and rode the bike I luckily had in the back the rest of the way.

so mañana...

I'll probably just leave it and take it to be disposed with properly.

Since my indicators are fixed thanks to electrical wizard and all round awesome bloke @Fixedwheelnut I've got the dashboard back in again and since then I've also ripped the carpet out of the footwells and ordered some shiny insulation foam to install and then some rubber floor mats that should hold up better than the last ones and be a little more pleasent inside now that I can close the windows and have hooked up the 'heating'.

This weeks jobs include hopefully replacing the head gasket and alternator on Tuesday and Wednesday in time for a spot of greenlaning on Thursday which should be pretty exiting. Very pleased with how it's going to be honest.
