I think a lot of the data and privacy concerns with regards to ID cards don't really hold the weight they used to given how much data we willing give over to any corporation that asks for it and the UK already being the most heavily video survailed country in Europe. The question of whether or not you'd have to have it on you at all times and who gets to demand to see it is a concern though.
So - because we're already over-surveiled, we should be fine with more?

Ethics committee? This is a DIY animal watching project...
I mean, I don't have any ethics committees to worry about these days.
Project automatic fave / dog / poop recognition machine is a go.
I'll have it feed directly into the neighbourhood whatsapp group, and projected onto the walls of the offenders' houses.

I want to build a window seat with storage underneath in a large square bay that is single skin brick and am having worried about damp / condensation if it stops airflow
We're doing this in our bay window, which currently has damp patches on the inside wall.
First task is shoring up the outside (sealing the gaps between windows & mullions, repainting, adding a French drain around the base of the wall, grinding a fall into the window cill and adding a drip groove).
To keep the inside dry, I'm lifting the floor to clear up any crap between the joists, any dwarf walls and the outside wall, and making sure that the air bricks are completely clear. The rout out a vent in the floor itself.
I've asked the people building the cabinet (diyalcovecabinets.co.uk) to leave enough space between the boxing and the wall to ensure airflow.
Fingers crossed, it will be enough. If not, I'll try adding vents to the top of the seat itself.

I don't trust this, or any future government*(or parliament) to implement something like this without including any number of illiberal elements, either by design, incompetence or sefl-serving malice, that will fuck over the already marginalised and disenfranchised.
* or any past government
