I have had the worst luck with DSLRs and digital cameras in general. When my mum upgraded to a 5D Mk II she gave me her old 40D. Second time I removed the SD card and replaced it one of the pins got bent :(
Then my G10 got smushed between 2 theatre chairs at a Grizzly Bear concert.
I went back to my Rolleiflex and Pentax. When money runs out for film/dark room fees I just sob and Instagram.

Anyone fancy a game of Count The Cunts??
WTF? Did these people not get enough attention in early childhood or something?

There are many places in East london that are grim but it's just a fact of life. There are a few strips of middle class delight: Victoria Park, Stoke Newington and my old neighbourhood Chatsworth road but you pay a premium to have access to organic vegetables and niche coffee shops. Hackney Central (Mare Street/Amhurst Road/Well Street) is a good area with access to various amenities.
Thank you for the advice! Flat hunting has been a real pain having never lived in London before so I appreciate every morsel of information I can get my hands on.

Closer to town, close to hampstead heath, rank high street, a pineapple themed pub. I'd buy in vic park
Could you make a suggestion regarding Vic Park/Bethnal Green?
I'm making a week long trip at the end of the month to view everything and would love some pointers about the areas in general so I can check out the high streets/busy areas and gauge whether or not I'm likely to get stabbed...
Little strip around Parfett Street (between Commercial road and Whitechapel road and to the east of Brick Lane.) Commercial road seems a bit grim, accurate assumption?

Hey everyone.
I recently got my hands on a nice vintagey bike with down tube shifters.
I moved the shifters up to the quill stem and attached a double band-on cable stop where the shifters used to be to make shifting less of a hassle.
At first all seemed well but when I began the process of 'stretching' the cables I discovered that the cable housing for the front mech cable was being stripped apart by the cable stop attached to the shifters. The hole on the stop was just large enough to grip the polymer outer on the housing and strip it away from the metal casing within. Here are a couple of pictures to illustrate the problem:

Seems to be isolated on the front mech shifter.
Here you can see that the cable on the left has substantially less room to maneuver as a result.
I placed a small square washer between the cable and the stop on the shifter to try and remedy this but it doesn't seem to have helped. Does this seem like a logical idea? Do I just need something smaller to make this work?

I guess. I just wouldn't like to be the brunt of a very good lawyer, claiming that my flishyflashy wheels were there to distract drivers.
It reminds me a little bit about an article I read on some hipster news website where a Dutch girl was stopped policemen and told to change her outfit because her legs were a distraction to drivers lol. She totally did too!

Just had a thought. Could you not be in a pickle with the law if someone was watching the pretty patterns on your wheels and runs into something? Would it not be your fault in some way, not so much for EL or anything of that ilk but the monkeyelectric ones are iffy, I think.
Why would it the cyclist's fault? If the driver is not evolved enough to make a decision not to stare at pretty light then it's the driver's fault.

I do not know how to curb jump. I am only comfortable with taking my left hand off the handlebars but not my right as I've become convinced that my face will be met by the pavement. This makes indicating to turn right a little confusing for motorists who are not familiar with the Highway Code. I also don't know how to skid.
I lie to taxi drivers, creating a whole new identity and life each time.
This applies to just about anyone I forge a temporary relationship with. If I know I won't see them again, I just lie. It's a little game my therapist does not encourage me to play.

While Wiggo was taken out of context and the issue was inappropriate at the time, it has done some good. Some very sound pieces written on why compulsory helmet wearing should not happen and bores Johnson and others coming out and saying that it should not happen. Grab positives when you can.
Very good point.

I think it just means the admin of the website hasn't set up recaptcha with google.
