Network Rail are doing the absolute bare minimum to control the Japanese knotweed on the land at the back of our house.
I want it gone because I know how hard it was for us to get a mortgage with it there.
Hence I am going to buy myself so Tordon and attack it myself. Instructions are saying late winter/early spring.
Anybody ever used it? Do I want for it to start growing and then drench it? I don't want to cause an ecological disaster but I will terminate with extreme prejudice motherfucker.
CheBeef's link suggests that chemical treatment is the way forward if the ground won't be disturbed, which seems likely if it's an embankment (I'm guessing here). If you want to feel a bit more optimistic, watch the video here. There is research into an insect that will reduce Japanese Knotweed to a rate of growth that renders is much less threatening.

I heard of this place recently. I've never been, but it looks pretty awesome!

How bloddy big are you!?
This big (SFW I promise, no double-entendre, although I think it's about 64c-c!)
It must be a nice new frame to bump that from the collection. Enjoy!

Stupid question or not? Was changing my quill stem and noticed that headsets top nut has about two-three threads left free not on the forks steerer... As a big bike mechanic got thinking that my steerer was cut to short and not exactly with headset top nut.. Should i change spacer to smaller one so i can tighten the headsets nut all the way so no threads left.. Or this is how it should be and its all good?
Thank you guys for help!As yoav said, you don't want the lip on the top of the locknut to touch the steerer otherwise the locknut won't be applying pressure to the crown race to keep it in place. The Barnett manual suggests that there should be at least 4.5 mm of thread for the locknut to get onto and that you should check that it's not touchin the top of the steerer:

"I'll take the..."
You're not taking it anywhere, so no, you can't. You may have, you may order, you may not take, you may not get.
But they're going to take it from the waiter/barista/dealer. Otherwise, how could they eat/drink/snort it?
Also, "for Christmas I got a..." is fairly standard usage. The situation is the same i.e., you've received something from someone, but it would be weird to say "for Christmas I had a..."

ALL GONE! [strike]Some bits that I can't be bothered to try to sell and just want to clear out. Somebody take the whole lot from me please (you can bring beer if you like). It will go to a bike recycling centre in a week or two:
Includes
- Black alloy adjustable stem – 130mm (at 0 degrees), 0 – 60 degree rise, to fit 1 & 1/8” steerer and 25.4mm handlebar.
- Pair of old school drop bar levers – silver. One has a suicide lever attached, but this can be removed and they’ll still work fine
- Old school drop bar lever left-side only – Good condition, with suicide lever.
- Silver QR seat clamp – for a 34.9mm seat tube as far as I can work out.
- Quando rear hub – 6-bolt disc brake mounting, 135mm width. Has been laced but in good condition, spins smoothly and the freehub works nicely.
- Shimano RX100 rear hub - 125mm width but could be spaced to 130mm. Just repacked and turns nice and freely. The freehub clicks nicely and fits a Shimano 7-speed hyperglide or uniglide cassette (it might be compatible with more speeds).
- Look Carbon pedals (2nd photo) - Old school clipless! Seem to spin and click as they should, but I'm no expert.
- Short flat handlebar
[/strike]
- Black alloy adjustable stem – 130mm (at 0 degrees), 0 – 60 degree rise, to fit 1 & 1/8” steerer and 25.4mm handlebar.

A question if you please?
Putting up a curtain pole above a 3.5m wide patio door which has a steel lintel above it...
Is the window flush with the wall above, or does the lintel stick further out into the room? If it's an I-beam then there should be a hollow section (i.e., the concave bit of the I facing out into the room. Is there any way you can get at that to whack in a couple of wooden blocks and hang it from those? It would be messy, but dead solid.

My key point was (as you say) that when someone is passed dangerously close that is 100% the fault of the driver and 0% the fault of the cyclist, even if the cyclist was not riding in the best way possible. My second key point was that to say that to say that the cyclist was not cycling very well is to imply that the driver is less than 100% at fault and the cyclist is more than 0% at fault, which is, by definition victim blaming.
You inferred the victim blaming, it was not implied. For example, "I didn't lock my house very well" does not remove any culpability from the burglar who then breaks in.

Are those standard flat-bar levers for V brakes? Dibs if so.
