Would the amount of cable pull, per amount of mech movement be the same across two sets of Shimano mechs? Namely the 2300 front and rear mechs, compared to the Tiagra 4500 front and rear mechs?

I am considering using Tiagra mechs as a replacement for 2300s, and wondered if it would still work with my indexed (downtube) shifters.

Hi there. I just got hold of Arabesque shifters and mechs and really like the look of them. I would like to use them to put together a nice little tourer - I have a frame with canti mounts. I am looking for Arabesque chainset, headset and brake levers - or to match - right period/finish/look.

Rik, your old red rat frame is still sitting on top of the wardrobe while I build my reasonably priced road bike - the parts from the Ammaco are going onto a Raleigh 531 frame - just waiting for the stem then I can build it up. In idle moments I think about what to put on your frame. I got front and rear Arabesque mechs and a pair of matching band on shifters, which I would quite like to put on. On the other hand, I am quite tempted to do a nice single speed CX. And then there is the bars - just don't know what to do there...
