I didn't see a quote so I couldn't follow the little > link to find what the conversation was when it first started. Quoting's pretty important in a busy thread like this one.
Yeah, sure. And really, I was only kidding.
To be fair though, I think my original post was in reply to the post directly above.
Anyhow, the availability of SS hubs like this has vexed me. I have a hub on my Monocog which is SS cassette hub, with threads on the top of the splines which you can use to thread a standard track cog if you like, or use a Shimano-splined sprocket and use the threads for a lockring (not a standard lockring either). It is sort of knackered - working OK but the threads are fucked and I will need to replace the sprocket at some point. I am worried where I will find another.

OK, this is what I found: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=69093&gclid=CM_R3YCB7bQCFW7HtAodYxsAKw&PartnerID=2812&utm_source=Awin&utm_medium=link&utmcampaign=generic&$ja=tsid:41244|cgn:awin|kw:101164&awc=2698_1361976008_94f985d8bd8725e32c9d1fa927a409c7 £50, which is not so bad.
And this was suggested to me: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/135mm_free_hubs/hope_pro_2_evo_trials_ss/c148p11557.html £150, which is quite expensive.
And really, there were others, I can't find them.

I was going to post this on "oh shit" but everyone there is (rightly) talking about dj's recent close shave. This one is minor...
Riding up Rosebery Avenue, toward the junction of Amwell Street, line of traffic waiting. I am filtering up the left, slowly, particularly as I pass vans or buses (where I can't see if anyone might be trying to cross in front of the stationary vehicle). There's a fella on a road bike right behind me, which is where he has been ever since the Mount Pleasant traffic lights. I keep looking around at him, he should have gathered I don't think he should be there, but he is still there.
And whoops, someone is about to step out from in front of the UPS van, I see her and stop on the spot (discs innit?). Next thing is Mr. Roadie comes through airborne, followed by his bike. Hits the vans wing mirror I think, and sort of lands in front of me. His bike is leaning on my elbow, he is lying on the floor saying "ow".
He gets up and goes to the pavement, I hand him his bike. Said pedestrian is asking if he is OK. I figure he is OK, and getting sympathy, so I ride on. Felt a bit bad for doing that, maybe I should have said thanks for (A) stopping and (B) missing me as he flew past. Mind you, he should have not been up my ass like that.

I read that as "fixed with two front brakes" and thought "hm, new trend. Could catch on"
Could be done, one fore and one aft of the fork. I was looking at a mtb with the V-brakes behind the fork yesterday evening. I guess it would just need a modified bolt to go right through both sets of calipers and the fork.....

I asked this question in the SSCX thread and got some answers there.
Subsequently I did come across some much cheaper alternatives, like £40ish SS cassette hubs, but I can't find them now. But having a little google I did find this: http://www.mtbr.com/ssfaqcrx.aspx#ssMfgrsCassetteHubs
I am sure On One must have something, but cannot find it.
Anyway, you can always convert a geared cassette hub, but then you have the non-ideal dish of the wheel. Check out the SSCX thread for how much I get bothered about that, and how much it annoys everyone else.

I mean loss compared to had I just binned the item!
Actual Postage cost > sales price plus estimated postage costs!
I have, in the past, used ebay to flog stuff on... generally just a clearing house for low value items that have failed to sell elsewhere (like here). I think I'm giving up on ebay as a seller though - sick of late collectors and non-payers.
Sorry, I know what you meant, was making a different point, which I should have made clear.

I usually put a high postage in, but put a disclaimer in the text along the lines of "Because I am not sure how much it is to post, I have guessed high. Please consider the postage when bidding, consider it to be part of the price. I do hope that is OK...." etc etc.... I generally have not got time, nor do I want to go to the Post Office with each item, wrapped, and ask them how much postage is. I don't guess too high though, fiver for small, tenner for bigger sort of thing.

One comment contains this: "Let these scumbags get whats coming to them!!". Presumably he would like to take them down the railway line and throw some bricks at them. Later on he plaintively asks: "Why dont I get a say in what happens to them?". For me, the answer to that is self evident. For a "working man" with the intellect of a child, maybe it is not so clear.
Not saying I wouldn't lose the plot entirely if it was my child that was harmed. But this guy is from Falkirk.

Going up Finchley Road, just before the Waitrose before Finchley Road and Frognal tube?
Just a guess, because, for some reason, I had that stretch of road in mind when I read your first post. Don't know why.
