@drøn had some success with a headtube swap I think, though I don't think it's easy. I'd love to have a go at it but I'm too precious over my frame. Would also be keen to see how this GT would come out, sounds sick.

I guess it doesn't help that it seems counter intuitive that when the country is in debt, you need to spend more money to help getting out of that debt. Tbh I struggle to understand it, but I understand clearly that cutting local funding, services etc is NOT going to make the country a better place. I think the broad electorate understand that too: a lot of people voted out of the EU to free up some of the countrys money, but convincing everyone that spending more is the way to go is tough.
The way I tried to explain it to my dad was if I was the head of a 20 person household and I was in debt (but there was no urgent requirement to pay that debt back) and 5 of the 20 people in the house were suffering badly, I would borrow more to provide the means for them to progress out of that suffering.

Strava Fitness and Freshness. Is it crap? I don't train but enjoy tracking stuff and am interested in the idea that I've been consistently pushing myself too hard while commuting and hurting my overall performance.
This heart rate variability stuff sounds interesting but I think I'm right in understanding that Strava doesn't use it? -
Are there any 'traditional Labour core' up-through-a-Union potential nominees from the PLP?
This is what I'm wondering. I think Corbyn appeals to those who want to help the working classes and imbalances in wealth, but many of the working class themselves don't support him at all. Whether it's due to media bias, defence policy, immigration policy or him just appearing a bit 'weak' I don't know, but I can't convince myself that he's ever going to appeal to them.
I really, really, really want him to appeal to them though. -

I had a mate come across from Blackpool for the day on Saturday. Not a close mate, but since he left uni he's got into cycling and we've chatted about it a fair bit online so we decided to go for a spin.
I thought I'd make it a bit challenging, we're both in okay shape but not riding as much as we would each want so nothing crazy like ^ but a reasonable 80 km ride across to Whaley Bridge/Buxton with about 1100m of mixed long and short climbs.
Ended up being a lovely ride out. We had all four seasons worth of weather but as the ride had been organised for so long we were determined to keep cracking on. The company was great, conversation flowing throughout despite the hills, and I was pleased to find that my mate loved the route. A cafe stop for cake and coke by the canal on the way home topped the day off nicely, the sugar and caffeine making for a spirited blast home. Riding 1x10 on the road bike ended up not being too limiting though I think some of the fatigue I was feeling by the end was due to over-tall gears climbing.
bromance/10, would ride again

My gradual progress over the last few months. Progress is apparent but still not really getting the visual results I'm hoping for. Determined to play the long term game though, and be patient, making smaller but more sustainable changes to my lifestyle.
This is the libra app for Android for anyone who's interested too.
I'd be made up with that if I were you, nice work.
