Argos means 'slow' in Greek.
Not trying to mess up your sale, but just sayin...
I think you are trying to mess up my sale, you rat ;)
"If the name is Indo-European, it may be related to the adjective αργóς (argós) 'shimmering' or 'quick') from PIE *h₂erǵ-, hence also ἄργυρος (árguros) 'silver' with a meaning "shining brightly" or similar." Wikipedia
Price drop to account for any slowness, £240..

Hi folks
For sale - complete lightweight 14-speed aluminium racing bike, refurbished by Argos Cycles of Bristol. http://www.argoscycles.com/,
Refurbishment completed under the previous owner in the last couple of years, who said he had it around 15 years, and since then it’s probably done all of 10km as i never really got used to the downtube shifters. It’s actually really comfortable, nippy and light. Original frame maker unknown, but has to be of reasonable value for someone to go to the effort of a full refurb & paint job. All the kit works nicely, rides well and the frame transfers power well even by modern standards.
I’m looking to get SOLDfor this one.
Top Tube 56cm, Seat Tube 54cm c-c, 58cm c-t.
14 gears
Feels around the 9kg mark but can’t say for certain.
Blue aluminium. Full disclosure - some small marks to frame here and there.
Shimano 105 downtube gear shifters, brakes & levers
Shimano 600 front mech and chainset
Shimano Sora (new) rear mech
Stronglight Headset
Cinelli Giro d'Italia Handlebars (47cm) and matching stem (1" quill, 120mm length)
Hand built front wheel - Mavic rim on Campagnolo Hub.
Shimano SPDs
Seatpost - 27.2mmFor anyone that gets this far, please check out the stolen bikes thread - i’m funding a new bike for my girlfriend, and you might like to know I’ve got a £50/£60 bounty on her red Battaglin for any info leading to its return! http://www.lfgss.com/thread123-182.html
Any questions please ask; viewings in Camberwell evenings & weekends are welcome.
First dibs in thread followed by PM gets it.
Cheers

how much for thieve's head on a plate?
i'd call that a gift!
if the original buyer comes forward they won't be out of pocket or held responsible.. Some people just aren't aware of the trouble they cause by buying bargain bikes off brick lane.
I'm aware we're talking a million to one shot here, it's probably being stripped down as i write.
Expecting a lost cause i'll be selling my argos refurb bike very soon to fund the damage.. damn..

Ok ladies and gents, I think it's time to post a reward for my girlfriend's red Battaglin.
£50 to whoever can provide a solid lead to its whereabouts - locked up somewhere, seen going into someone's house - which results in me being reunited with it (I'll take care of that)
£60 to the person who inadvertently bought it from the guy at Brick Lane, and can return it to me. No questions asked. Benefit of the doubt and all!
I'm a man of my word, so please spread the word ;)
Cheers
Nick

Quick update on my girlfriend's red Battaglin stolen Sunday (outside Hoxton)..
A nice fellow who saw my post pm'd me yesterday to say he spotted a guy selling this very bike for £60 on Sunday - white guy, mid-late 50s, 5"8/9, by the market stalls at the back of the carpark, south of Sclater Street, off Brick Lane, only an hour after it was nicked.
Unlikely it'll still be there this weekend at that price, but I'm gonna go take a look.
For those that care, the Battaglin was tied by two cables (one kryptonite, one oxford, though that matters not) to my kryptonite fahgeddaboudit d-lock, which in turn locked my bike to a bike hoop. Snipped right through both cables, took hers, left mine obviously. I know, i know ;)
Shameless re-posting of pic, spotters badges available!

Sadly my girlfriend had her beatuful red Battaglin stolen from outside Hoxton overland station earlier today..
It's a 42" or 43", red frame, white bar tape, chrome forks, wellgo pedals, crappy ladies black padded seat..
Cut through two cables whilst we were gone, should have used the kryptonite like we usually do!
A sad day that put a damper on the Olympic spirit!

that's 110cm.
