Currently working for the same developer, with the same crane company: operator here says the likely cause is a mechanical failure of part of the jib, known as the T-bar.
Thankfully no casualties.

The contract is between DHL and the sender, not the recipient, so I imagine it's the case with all couriers.
It's not as if you could prove you're the intended recipient, without the sender's help.
I expect it's also down to DHL rather than BikeDiscount, that the address can't be changed once it's sent: the time and expense to track down a parcel in the system, would be considerable.
