@dubtap I prefer commuting in a non cycling specific rain shell, as you can continue wearing it off the bike without looking like a gimp. don't find the hood gets in the way too much, Also if its really bad the hood is big enough to go over my helmet.

any neoprene recommendations that work well? People still thinking they are the best option for wet weather?

Hi Couple of quick pictures of my nelson commuting bike, not pretty but gets the job done.. finally finished my cheapo first wheel build, as per testers advice ages ago; think they were 60 euro or something. Also got some s500 levers, which are so much nicer than the tektro ones i had before. Bodged on fullish mudguards this winter using an old chromoplastic and some cable ties, works great. Thanks again to @adroit for the reflective tape. Please excuse the uncut steerer (will do it soon) and the red refuses; Chain Reactions sent me the wrong colour but I kept them as they gave me a 20 pound voucher as compensation. Might take better pictures when I cut the steerer.

So general consensus is no to seal skinz? They are going cheap on "that site" at the moment, in need of some decent waterproof gloves, pissing down in dublin atm. Don't need crazy warms gloves

Just finished making some upgrades to my girl friends kingpin, which was her grandmothers. Really happy with how it turned out. Upgraded to some cheap alloy wheels with a coaster brake (£45) and some kojaks. Shaved a good bit of weight and runs a lot smoother now. Only down side is they are 406 vs the 440 wheels that were on there. 451 would have been better obviously but didn't have the money to get a custom set built. It's so much fun to ride now, don't want to give it back.

I have one, pretty happy with it for the price, seems quite stiff to me. The stock BB is shit though. Would recommend, best value around I reckon, ugly though.

Just want to give a bit of praise to Marmot. Bought a half price speed light gore text jacket for half price last year. Was really happy with it but the wire in the brim cracked pretty soon after I got it and has just started to make a small hole in the fabric. I emailed the European marmot site to explain. They said they'll replace it no problem, no questions asked, didn't even provide pictures. Just have to wait till they come back into stock in November. Added bonus, I get a black one instead of the gash highlighter yellow one I have now. Happy boy

They are a bit ugly and the BB that comes with it is shit, but I think its good for the price, very happy with mine, got it on sale last year, nice and stiff. external bearing > square taper.
