Hi guys, Just to let you know that they don't fit!

Koolstop's site says: "These will fit most Shimano® type brake systems"
But the sleeve nut does not pass through the slot in the caliper... :(I could mill/file/drill it out I suppose...
Or could I safely just use an M5 locknut on the end of the post thing? -
I have a pair of Shimano M424 pedals like these:

Not many miles on them, so bearings are fine, some slight scuffing to the nylon bits..
.....£15.00 +£2.00 for the postie

I can totally understand that. Some of those pictures are heartbreaking, but no more so than some of the sights you see on certain estates.
I suppose what's really painful about Hine's work is that it documents the norm rather than the exception. For each one of those photographs there were thousands, tens of thousands who went unnoticed. In a way, rather than being a 'lost childhood' it is simply what childhood used to be. Hard, exhausting, mind numbingly dull.
Modern society has many, many flaws but one of it's greatest achievements is giving a 'proper' childhood to the majority of children.+1 to this guys..

This is a picture by Lewis Hine and is of Child labour so is not really cool at all google Lewis Hine to get the full story
So it is, and thanks for the heads-up... some more of Hines' work here:

An interesting portrait of 'The American Dream'...
I still think the little lad is 'Cool as Fuck' though -
Hi guys, there is an 11 year old lad at the local cycle club, he loves his cycling. For his birthday he got a 'road' bike, it IIRC is like this..

Problem is he does not like the thumb shifters which are mounted on the bar flats up by the stem... I rashly said that I would try to find a better alternative... But after some googling about it seems that 7 speed Brifters are like hen's teeth, and even if you find a pair, they cost about the same as the whole bike did..... Could I make this into an 8 speed? Or would bar ends do the job? Anyone have an old pair knocking about the shed? (or even just a RH Brifter?, I could leave the LH as it is with the thumb shifter).. Any advice or suggestions welcome..

I don't see what the fuss is about, their stuff is not expensive, IMHO:

I still have nightmares, I was walking down a busy street, saw a bike outside a shop, I crossed the road to have a closer look. It was love at first sight!! A competition standard CX bike, Full Dura-Ace Groupset, Mavic Krysium Elite wheels. My size. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Lock strategy? Cheapo cable through QR front wheel. I waited outside to see the bellend who owned this object of lustful desire, and who plainly didn't deserve it. ....
After 10 minutes or so, came this little old fellow, about seventy years old. Dressed in MTB shorts, Oakley's, SPD shoes. I explained that my bike was nearby, and I could have gone and got my front wheel and ridden his £3,000 beauty away in about 20 seconds. He explained that he 'did a bit of gardening' for a pro coach, and that when he got a bike stolen, he just went to see this coach, who let him choose another one from the many that sponsors gave him on a regular basis.
I must get the phone number of this coach. I would do a lot more than 'a bit of gardening' for an endless supply of bikes like that!
I saw the same bike a couple of months later. Outside a shop. NO LOCK AT ALL! -

^ Correct.
BTW - when you paid, did you not see a page of instructions/acknowledgement on our website?
Hmm I might have been slightly drunk (Dutch courage!) so I don't recall.... :)
