Im here. Gonna need to log on and play these track posts now.
Wierdly enough, I may be required to be looking after a friends kid on bike rides around the hyde park area whilst parent exhibits paintings lots of sundays this year. Quite looking forward to being in town again more often.
Thx for the shouts! -

It'll never catch on, unless they rebrand it SuperLactoTheobromide X Plus and put it in a ringpull can.
Getting fit can be one of the most natural things ever, but so many people seem unable to be enthusiastic about it unless every part of it involves buying stupidly over-complicated equipment - even the bloody food.
It's running, for fuck's sake. Simple, natural activity. You don't have to do it barefoot, but just put a simple shoe on, go run and see how it feels. If it doesn't feel good, the first thing you should be considering is your technique, not the next "scientific" purchase. Hungry afterwards? Eat and drink something. If you try really hard, you just might be able to do it while not wearing a heart rate monitor with special blood-sugar-level attachment and a personal trainer telling you when to swallow. All the tech-obsession is doing is keeping a bunch of quacks in business while distracting from performance. Even the stuff that actually makes a difference is really only worth it when your ability is reaching competitive level - and even then people who never waste any money on it will be cruising past you.
All-the-gear-and-no-idea is less surprising as a cycling phenomenon, given that a minimum of technology is needed to make the bike move forwards. Still boggles and depresses me to see it attached to running.
None of that aimed at you, Hats, obv.
yeah that^ I just couldnt be arsed writing it too busy running and racing IRL

Yes on paper the theory looks perfect, sadly cycling in Scotland is as bad as cycling the streets of London, or any other major city. Drivers don't give a shit for us, they try and squeeze us off the road, cut us up at junctions, chicanes traffic lights etc. It's a war out there and the driver having the weight and security of his car is more than happy to do whatever he/she can to get past, even if that means putting the life of oncoming traffic in danger...
As for me, I'm a professional driver, it's what I earn my living at, but my 'hobby' is cycling and I often think it's time to take up dominos
